A recently published method for Factor X (FX) assay (1) utilizing Russel's Viper Venom (RVV) and a chromogenic substrate has been further investigated by testing a large number of parameters. This method has been considered as a suitable method for monitoring coumarol treatment (Bergström et al).The conditions for the activation of FX by purified preparations of the RVV have been studied as well as the conditions for FXa determination with a new chromogenic substrate Bz-Ile-Glu(γ-piperidyl)-Gly-Arg-pNA (S-2337). Both purified factors and normal plasma have been used. The effect of plasma inhibitors as well as the selectivity of the method has been studied.The reproducibility and stability of the different reagents and standards have been studied and found to be good.The amount of FXa activity obtained from normal human plasma has been titrated with FXa inhibitors of known purity.1) Aurell L. et al, Thromb. To study the composition of a biofilm a previous extraction method is required to separate cells from the matrix. There are several methods reported in the literature; however they are not efficient or promote leakage of intracellular material. In this work several extraction methods were assayed in mixed culture and pure culture biofilms and their efficiency was evaluated by the amount of organic carbon, proteins and intracellular material extracted. The results showed that the extraction with glutaraldehyde 3% (w/v) was the most suitable method, extracting great amounts of organic carbon without promoting cell lysis or permeabilization. Glutaraldehyde is a bifunctional reagent that binds to cell walls avoiding their permeabilization and the biofilm matrix is solubilized in the solution.

Word sense induction (WSI), or the task of automatically discovering multiple senses or meanings of a word, has three main challenges: domain adaptability, novel sense detection, and sense granularity flexibility. While current latent variable models are known to solve the first two challenges, they are not flexible to different word sense granularities, which differ very much among words, from aardvark with one sense, to play with over 50 senses. Current models either require hyperparameter tuning or nonparametric induction of the number of senses, which we find both to be ineffective. Thus, we aim to eliminate these requirements and solve the sense granularity problem by proposing AutoSense, a latent variable model based on two observations: (1) senses are represented as a distribution over topics, and (2) senses generate pairings between the target word and its neighboring word. These observations alleviate the problem by (a) throwing garbage senses and (b) additionally inducing fine-grained word senses. Results show great improvements over the stateof-the-art models on popular WSI datasets. We also show that AutoSense is able to learn the appropriate sense granularity of a word. Finally, we apply AutoSense to the unsupervised author name disambiguation task where the sense granularity problem is more evident and show that AutoSense is evidently better than competing models. The electricity changing models for the energy supply of electric vehicles are described and introduced. A more suitable method of fast replacing battery of electric vehicles is found and the practical method and process of quickly replacing battery are focused as a major topic. The changing equipment used is studied and described while the efficiency of electrical changing equipments is discussed. The reserve number of batteries in power charging plant and the number of vehicles that each quickly changing device could service are studied and derived.

It is over a decade since a study of legends of St. Peter in medieval Latin hymns appeared (Traditio 10 [1954] 275–322), followed not only by a number of other monographs but also by a more comprehensive investigation of the history of medieval Latin hymnody, now completed. The questions raised in that article in Traditio have still their significance and the search for a suitable method, or methods, in hymnology is not yet ended. Successive investigations in this field have gradually revealed some of the possibilities in hymnological research; we have noted that the study of legends and narrative sources reflected in hymn-texts may result in concrete discoveries which aid the analytic investigation of medieval hymns. Through them we often come to learn something about the contemporary intellectual trends and the ideas that were lingering in the minds of the people of those times. We also discover echoes of popular beliefs and cults by analyzing certain elements of the hymns. Further investigations in the terminology and style of the hymns can lead us to medieval exegetic and homiletic literature, to patristic sources and the like, which, too, left their imprint on Latin hymnody.
