Based on the results obtained by the triaxial creep test, a creep-damage constitutive model for sandstone is presented by using the damage theory and by introducing the concept of “the whole process of damage” into Burgers creep model. The parameters of the model are determined by fitting the creep test data. The result shows that the proposed model can not only describe efficiently the variation of decay and steady creep under relatively low stress condition, but also give a satisfied representation of damage behavior in accelerated creep stage.

The creep characteristic of saturated silt soil was studied by k0 consolidation creep test through two stress paths of axial loading and lateral lightening. According to test datas, some conclusions were submitted. First, the axial creep laws between the two stress paths were consistent on drainage conditions. Volume strains were much smaller than Axial strains. Volume strains presented alternation characteristic between shear shrinkage and shear dilatancy along with time extension. The silt soil creep constitutive model was presented. The results suggested combining the NHRI model describing the transient elastic-plastic strain with the creep empirical formula describing creep strain to establish the creep constitutive model.

Salt rock is a kind ofthe most suitablemedium for energy storages, because of its strongcreep behavior. "Burgers" and "Norton" is the two classic creep models. This paper starts from the establishment of creep constitutive model to obtain the determination method of creep constitutive parameters. Finally, it takes Nanjing salt rock creep test (2003) as an example to solve the parameters in Burgers and Norton constitutive equations.
