Modified 3D Moving Particle Semi-Implicit (MPS) method is used to complete the numerical simulation of the fluid sloshing in LNG tank under multidegree excitation motion, which is compared with the results of experiments and 2D calculations obtained by other scholars to verify the reliability. The cubic spline kernel functions used in Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method are adopted to reduce the deviation caused by consecutive two times weighted average calculations; the boundary conditions and the determination of free surface particles are modified to improve the computational stability and accuracy of 3D calculation. The tank is under forced multidegree excitation motion to simulate the real conditions of LNG ships, the pressures and the free surfaces at different times are given to verify the accuracy of 3D simulation, and the free surface and the splashed particles can be simulated more exactly.

When concrete examination towards utilization is needed, it is necessary to estimate the safety and the performance of a floating Oscillation Water Column (OWC)-type wave energy converter under abnormal oceanographic phenomenon such as large waves, wave impact force, deck wetness and complex motion of mooring system. Therefore, to choose a proper numerical method is important. This present paper describes a fundamental study about estimation of safety and performance of floating OWC-type wave energy converter using the two-phase flow MPS method. In this research, firstly, new algorithm is installed in order to solve problems of the two-phase flow MPS method. Secondly, applicability to an response analysis of a wharf installation type OWC-WEC of the improved MPS method is examined by wave pressure acting to the OWC-WEC and response in the air chamber of the OWC-WEC.

A heat transfer and solidification model of slab continuous casting process was developed, and the nail-shooting experiments were carried out to verify and improve the prediction accuracy. The comparison between the simulation and the measurements results showed that, there exists difference between the model predicted liquid core length and the calculated liquid core length according to the measurement results of the solidification shell thickness. In the present study, the value of constant a in the heat transfer coefficient calculation formula was corrected through back-calculation, results showed that, the suitable value of a is 31.650, 33.468 and 35.126 when the casting speed is 0.8m·min-1, 0.9m·min-1 and 1.0m·min-1 respectively, which can meet the liquid core length of the measurement results. The developed model built a foundation for the application of dynamic secondary cooling, and dynamic soft reduction.
