The article describes main objects of sun-protection devices implementation in premises of industrial buildings. The study deals with the above mentioned elements, used for buildings with roof system of natural lighting, located in regions with hot and sunny climate. The use of sun-protection in such an outdoor conditions is widely known, but in most cases their implementation is connected with civil buildings. Different structures of roof lighting system are being considered in the article under two main criteria: a sun-protection quality and quantity of natural light, penetrated into the interiors. The conclusion was maid, that the best type of natural lights structures are monitors, equipped with canopies. These are the best in general, with respect not only to insolation limitation and natural

The article deals with the evolution of sun protection of buildings: from traditional shading devices to innovative techniques of dynamic architecture. Special attention is paid to the development of sun protection devices in the XX century and ignoring solar geometry in the works of masters of new architecture. The problem of energy saving has required architects to return to the means of protecting buildings from solar radiation heat. Modern innovative technologies have led to the emergence of a new generation of means of solar radiation control in buildings. The Russian experience of sun shading devices application is considered on an example Rostov-on-Don.

The object of this research is the sun protection devices for translucent enclosing structures such as blinds. The goal of this research lies in examination of the historical experience and modern practice of using sun protection devices. The author conducts retrospective research of the evolution of blinds in order to determine the key stages in the development of structures that regulate the luminous flux. The historical discourse of the evolution of the system of blinds is based on the retrospective analysis of blinds according to the main characteristics, such as materials used, their location (indoors or building facades), and gear options. The author determines three main periods can in the evolution of blinds. The first period started in 1841, when John Hampton patented dentition blinds and lasted until 1936 (the design and materials used did not change throughout this period). The second period lasts from 1936 to 1960, and marks the emergence of the facade constructs "sun-cutter blinds", as well as the use of aluminum for the production of fins. The third period covers 1960s-1970s, is characterized by progressive automatic control, implementation of PVC, and improvement of energy efficiency of blinds using photovoltaic fins.
