Based on actual working conditions and parameters of the hydraulic steering gear, the purpose is optimizing the rubber seal of steering gear by different rubbers mixing technology. Compare the five kinds of rubber with metal of the friction characteristics in dynamic fit, it can obtain a performance excellent rubber real in the specific operation conditions. And then improve the overall service life of the steering gear. It is first prepared the same hardness TPU and PVC and blends that the ratio is 3:7, 5:5and7:3 in this article. The pros and cons of the five rubbers are analyzed in friction and wear properties of the above experimental. The test curve of coefficient friction and wear with time has been done under different load at constant low speed. It determines TPU/PVC = 3:7 blends through friction and wear and wear mechanism of five rubbers with steel comparatively analyses, and the heat resistance and wear resistance of them are better than the other TPU/PVC blends and PVC under oil lubrication conditions.

AbstractDiamond-like carbon (DLC) and graphite-like carbon (GLC) coatings have good prospects for improving the surface properties of engine parts. However, further understanding is needed on the effect of working conditions on tribological behaviors. In this study, GLC and two types of DLC coatings were deposited on GCr15 substrate for investigation. The friction and wear properties of self-mated and steel-mated pairs were evaluated. Two temperatures (25 and 90 °C), three lubrication conditions (base oil, molybdenum dithiocarbamate (MoDTC)-containing oil, MoDTC+zinc dialkyldithiophosphate (ZDDP)-containing oil), and high Hertz contact stress (2.41 GPa) were applied in the experiments. The results showed that high temperature promoted the effect of ZDDP on steel-mated pairs, but increased wear under base oil lubrication. The increased wear for steel-mated pairs lubricated by MoDTC-containing oil was due to abrasive wear probably caused by MoO3 and β-FeMoO4. It was also found that in most cases, the tribological properties of self-mated pairs were better than those of steel-mated pairs.

The friction and wear properties of AISI 52100 steel and DLC coatings were evaluated while being lubricated with silicone oil, PAO and PAG lubricants by using a reciprocating ball-on-disk sliding UMT tester. The morphologies of original surface and worn surfaces for the DLC and Ti doped DLC coatings were observed by using a scanning electron microscope. The results show that the DLC coatings have better tribological properties than AISI 52100 steel under silicone oil, PAO and PAG lubrication conditions. In addition, the DLC coatings have much better wear resistance than the AISI 52100 steel.
