Research has found that the axial load applied to the bit is distributed unevenly along the crowns of the balls. The middle crowns are the busiest. The value of the axial force perceived by a separate ring is associated with the deformation of the details of the ball joint. You can reduce the uneven loading of crowns by shifting them along the ball along the radius of the bit, placing them so that the vertical line passing through the center of the lower ball of the lock bearing passes through the middle of the gap between the crowns of neighboring balls. The bits with the new option of placing the teeth on the balls were tested on the stand and in industrial conditions. For the bits of this design, the axial load was distributed more evenly over the crowns, which allowed increasing the efficiency of their work.

Cosmic ray measurements on mountains are limited in general to altitudes below about 4000 meters. Above this height Regener has made successful use of small balloons carrying self-recording apparatus, and occasional flights have been made with manned balloons by Piccard, Cosyns, and by American workers. Balloon experiments are, however, hardly practicable in this country, so we decided to investigate cosmic rays, and in particular the production of showers, using an aeroplane. Facilities for flying to a height of about 10 km. Were generously provided by the Air Ministry. Apparatus Two independent sets of three tube counters were used in conjunction with the usual coincidence counting circuits. The counters could be arranged in a vertical line to record vertical penetrating particles, or in a triangle to record showers. The triple coincidences were recorded by telephone counters which were photographed at intervals together with a clock and aneroid barometer. The detailed design of the apparatus required some consideration since the aeroplane available (the Vickers Vespa machine used for high altitude experiments at the Royal Aircraft Establishment) had an open observer’s cockpit in which the counting set had to be installed.

Some image processing research are restudied via CNN genes with five variables, and this include edge detection, corner detection, center point extraction and horizontal-vertical line detection. Although they were implemented with nine variables, the results of computer simulation show that the effect with five variables is identical to or better than that with nine variables.

Orientation estimation from magnetic, angular rate, and gravity (MARG) sensor array is a key problem in mechatronic-related applications. This paper proposes a new method in which a quaternion-based Kalman filter scheme is designed. The quaternion kinematic equation is employed as the process model. With our previous contributions, we establish the measurement model of attitude quaternion from accelerometer and magnetometer, which is later proved to be the fastest (computationally) one among representative attitude determination algorithms of such sensor combination. Variance analysis is later given enabling the optimal updating of the proposed filter. The algorithm is implemented on real-world hardware where experiments are carried out to reveal the advantages of the proposed method with respect to conventional ones. The proposed approach is also validated on an unmanned aerial vehicle during a real flight. Results show that the proposed one is faster than any other Kalman-based ones and even faster than some complementary ones while the attitude estimation accuracy is maintained.
