In this study, aerosol samples at Hanoi, Vietnam from February 2017 to January 2018collected on the glass fiber filter were analyzed for 210Pb by using HPGe spectrometry. 210Pb weekly activity concentrations were in the range of 0.12 mBq.m-3 to 2.87 mBq.m-3 with an average value of 0.92 mBq.m-3 and 210Pb monthly activity concentrations were in the range of 0.99 mBq.m-3 to 9.24 mBq.m-3 with an average value of 4.01 mBq.m-3. The analysis of monthly averaged 210Pb activity concentrations revealed a dominant seasonal variability: high activity concentrations of 210Pb in winter and lower values in summer. The correlation between the activity concentrations of 210Pb in aerosoland the meteorological parameters (average temperature, precipitation and relative humidity) were observed and the obtained correlation coefficients are -0.95, -0.58 and -0.71, respectively.

This work presents the analysis of weekly 7Be activity concentrations in the air measured in Bilbao (northern Spain) by collecting aerosols in filters over a ten years period (2009–2018). 7Be level is in the 0.35–7.3 mBq/m3 range, with a mean of 3.20 ± 1.12 mBq/m3. The trend, cycle, seasonal and monthly variability are evaluated using time series analysis techniques. The results indicate the impact of sunspots (24th solar cycle) on interannual 7Be activity concentrations, and a significant seasonal and monthly variation, with maximum concentrations occurring in spring-summer and minimum in the winter. The correlation of different 7Be ranges with local meteorological parameters, such as precipitation, temperature, relative humidity, and pressure, is also addressed, with precipitation having the greatest impact on 7Be activity values. The analysis of synoptic airflows, by calculating the back-trajectory clusters, and local winds at surface level reveals the important influence of the arrival of slow northwest Atlantic flows and the development of breezes on reaching high 7Be activity concentrations in this area.

Abstract The constant rate of supply (CRS) of excess 210Pb model was successfully applied to assess 210Pb data of two sediment cores from the lake Qattinah, Syria. Gamma spectrometry was used to determine 137Cs and 210Pb activity concentrations. The bottom of the cores was 210Pb-dated to years 1907 and 1893. The accumulation rates were determined using 210Pb method and found to vary similarly in both cores from 0.10 ± 0.01 to 3.78 ± 0.57 kg m−2 y−1 during the past century. 137Cs was used as an in-dependent chronometer. The two distinct peaks observed on the 137Cs record of both cores, corresponding to 1965 and 1986, have allowed a successful validation of the CRS model.
