Immediate loading of full-arch prostheses on dental implants in the upper arch is challenging, as the bone is of low quality and obtaining sufficient torque may be difficult. The purpose of this case report is to describe the rehabilitation of a full-arch by means of placement of four internal tapered connection tilted implants and immediate loading. A 65-year-old man sought dental care with a partially edentulous upper arch. The teeth presented mobility and were extracted. In a second step, two conventional-length implants were placed in the anterior region and two tilted and nasal wall–directed extra-long implants in the posterior region. The insertion torques of 60 N.cm allowed the installation of an immediate prosthesis (hybrid). The clinical case report suggests that the placement of tilted and extra-long implants in the paranasal bone and immediate loading may be a viable option for rehabilitation of the edentulous upper arch.

Introduction: The treatment of atrophic jaw fractures requires extensive knowledge by the maxillofacial surgeon. The correct diagnosis and planning optimize the possibility of oral rehabilitation towards many possible alternatives. The difficulty in repairing these fractures makes the treatment complex, in which normally invasive techniques are used. However; which give us satisfactory and predictable aesthetic-functional results. Objective: The objective of this work is to report an atrophic jaw fracture and posterior dental implants rehabilitation. Case report: A 53 years old female patient, victim of in face aggression referred to the emergency care. At the clinical examination, the patient had laceration in the upper lip region and the left side of the mandibular area, with bilateral mobility and paresis. In the oral examination, total lower and partial upper edentulism. After tomographic evaluation, a bilateral fracture of the mandibular body was confirmed, with significant bone fragments uneven. Surgery was performed with total transcervical access and use of reconstruction plate. After 90 days of follow-up, the oral rehabilitation with osseointegrated implants was performed. Conclusion: Complex atrophic mandible fractures in total edentulous patients can be treated with open reduction and stable fixation, allowing a faster return to normal function, improve of quality of life and assists in increasing safety for implant installation.KeywordsEdentulous jaw; Jaw fixation techniques; Dental implants.

Abstract Aim The aim of the documentation of this clinical case is to make clinicians aware of “meth mouth” and the medical risks associated with this serious condition. Background Methamphetamine is a very addictive, powerful stimulant that increases wakefulness and physical activity and can produce other effects such as cardiac dysrhythmias, hypertension, hallucinations, and violent behavior. Dental patients abusing methamphetamine can present with poor oral hygiene, xerostomia, rampant caries (“meth mouth”), and excessive tooth wear. Oral rehabilitation of patients using methamphetamine can be challenging. Case Description A 30-year-old Caucasian woman presented with dental pain, bad breath, and self-reported poor esthetics. A comprehensive examination including her medical history, panoramic radiograph, and intraoral examination revealed 19 carious lesions, which is not very common for a healthy adult. She reported her use of methamphetamine for five years and had not experienced any major carious episodes before she started using the drug. Summary The patient's medical and dental histories along with radiographic and clinical findings lead to a diagnosis of “meth mouth.” Although three different dental treatment modalities (either conventional or implantsupported) have been offered to the patient since August 2007, the patient has yet to initiate any treatment. Clinical Significance This clinical case showing oral manifestations of meth mouth was presented to help dental practitioners recognize and manage patients who may be abusing methamphetamines. Dental practitioners also may be skeptical about the reliability of appointment keeping by these patients, as they frequently miss their appointments without reasonable justification. Abstract Rhabdomyosarcoma is a malignant tumor that is most often seen in children younger than 15 years of age. This pathology is found mainly in the head and neck region. Treatment of rhabdomyosarcoma at early stages of life usually affects the dental and osseous development of children. Because of impaired development, microstomia can arise, making dental treatment more difficult. This article presents a patient with microstomia caused by resection of an embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma in the nasolabial region. The patient was treated with 5 dental implants and fixed hybrid prosthesis in the maxilla and 2 implants supporting an overdenture in the mandible.

The aim of the present study was to report the clinical case of a patient with a vertical defect of the alveolar ridge, which prevented the installation of dental implants without first treating the defect in question. A 32-year old female patient with a height defect of approximately 6 mm in the region of the missing absent teeth (13 and 14). The patient was treated using the sandwich osteotomy technique, with the interposition of a block bone graft of bovine origin. No complications were reported in the post- operative period. After seven months, two dental implants were installed in the relevant region. The bovine bone graft was incorporated into the relevant area. The bovine bone block graft used in this clinical case was shown to be a viable option for interposition between bone segments that have been osteotomized via sandwich osteotomy.

AIM: The objective of this study was to report a clinical case highlighting the main recommendations of the literature to minimize forces applied on implants. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A decision was made to increase the number and size of implants installed. Screwed and cemented prostheses were used, combined with an occlusal bruxism night guard. RESULTS: Four months after the prosthesis installation, no biological or biomechanical complications were encountered. CONCLUSION: There are cases of patients with parafunctional habit who require oral rehabilitation with implants. There are guidelines that enable planning and rehabilitation. It is important to monitor cases to assess the behavior of implants and their suprastructures.
