The synthesis and characterization of [Fe(MbenTpivPP)(1-MeIm)2], a new species among bis(imidazole) iron(ii) porphyrinates, is reported. Investigations suggest a strong correlation between mutual ligand orientations (θ) and axial Fe–NIm bond distances.
