Incorporation of metallic elements, titanium and copper, into carbonaceous mesophase (CM) was performed through mechanical alloying in a ball mill apparatus. The structures of the raw CM as well as the Ti/Cu-added CM were characterized by X-ray diffraction. The tribological behavior of the Ti/Cu-added CM used as lubricating additives was investigated by using a high temperature friction and wear tester. The results show that, compared with the raw CM, the Ti/Cu-added CM exhibits a drop in the crystallinity and a transition to the amorphous. The Ti/Cu-added CM used as lubricating additive displays an obvious high temperature anti-friction and wear resistance effect, and the lager the applied load, the lower the friction coefficient and the wear severity.

Iron tailings is the bulk waste produced by steel plants that has not yet been used. In this study, the mineral composition of iron tailings was determined by XRD. The microstructure was observed by SEM-BEI. Resin-based composite materials with different contents of iron tailings were prepared by compression molding method and the tribological properties of the composites were studied. The results showed that: when the contents of iron tailings were 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50%, the friction and wear properties of the resin-based composite materials can meet the standards for automotive clutch (GB/T 5764-1998). Among these samples, the sample with 20% iron tailings had the best performance. This paper provides a new way for the use of iron tailings.

Ball mill is the widely used comminution device for the size reduction of iron ore particles, yet the underlying mechanisms of heat transfer and thermal breakage inside the mills heretofore are not deeply understood. Therefore, the Discrete element method was carried out to study the effect of operating parameters on charge temperature, and the batch grinding experiments of iron ores were conducted to verify the heating temperatures using a laboratory ball mill. Results show that increasing mill speed will result in the charge temperature increasing initially and then decreasing. The temperature fields of the charge and load behavior remain approximately the same for the different ball filling. The main findings of this study are that the heating temperature can contribute to enhancing the breakage behavior of iron ore particles, and correspondingly the optimal feed sizes for different heating temperatures are determined to be 2.48 mm, 2.63 mm, 2.78 mm, and 3.59 mm, respectively.

In this paper, based on ctual large-scale ball mill liners working conditions, effects of different quenching temperature and tempering temperature on the Cr-Mo steel performance, optimize the best heat treatment process. The use of sophisticated electronic universal tensile testing machine, and Rockwell hardness testing machine for testing mechanical properties of steel materials were tested; Using the MMS-1G-type high-temperature high-speed Friction and wear tester, the wear properties of steel samples were studied using JSM-5610LV scanning electron microscope study of the tensile test fracture surfaces of steel and the friction and wear morphology. The results show that: For the high carbon alloy steel, of which 870 °C 620 °C tempered quenched specimen extension rate of 7.0% area reduction rate of 9.5%.

SiJiaYing's iron ore is fine grain hematite and gangue mineral is quartz, chlorite, black mica and parts of clay mineral.Grinding process is tend to argillation, which seriously impact the subsequent strong magnetic and flotation thick operation. This paper mainly conduct ball mill sphere diameter, ball ratio and the grinding effect factor test, which including medium filling ratio, grinding concentration and so on.By compared experiments optimize, grinding process and improve the grinding effect.
