AbstractThe aim of our paper is to study oscillatory and asymptotic properties of solutions of nonlinear differential equations of the third order with deviating argument. In particular, we prove a comparison theorem for properties A and B as well as a comparison result on property A between nonlinear equations with and without deviating arguments. Our assumptions on nonlinearity f are related to its behavior only in a neighbourhood of zero and/or of infinity.

AbstractIn this paper, we are concerned with the oscillation properties of the third order differential equation $$ \left( {b(t) \left( {[a(t)x'(t)'} \right)^\gamma } \right)^\prime + q(t)x^\gamma (t) = 0, \gamma > 0 $$. Some new sufficient conditions which insure that every solution oscillates or converges to zero are established. The obtained results extend the results known in the literature for γ = 1. Some examples are considered to illustrate our main results.

We establish sufficient conditions under which all solutions of the third-order nonlinear differential equation x ⃛+ψ(x,x˙,x¨)x¨+f(x,x˙)=p(t,x,x˙,x¨) are bounded and converge to zero as t→∞.

AbstractThis paper is concerned with the asymptotic behavior of solutions of nonlinear differential equations of the third-order with quasiderivatives. We give the necessary and sufficient conditions guaranteeing the existence of bounded nonoscillatory solutions. Sufficient conditions are proved via a topological approach based on the Banach fixed point theorem.

The article presents a proof of the theorem of the existence and uniqueness of the analytical solution of the class of nonlinear differential equations of the third order, with a polynomial right-hand side of the sixth degree, in the complex domain. The class of the considered equations has been extended by means of a new change of variables. An a priori estimate of the analytical approximate solution is obtained. A variant of the numerical experiment of optimizing a priori estimates using a posteriori estimates is presented.

Abstract The aim of this paper is to present some results concerning with the asymptotic behavior of solutions of nonlinear differential equations of the third-order with quasiderivatives. In particular, we state the necessary and sufficient conditions ensuring the existence of nonoscillatory solutions tending to zero as t → ∞.

AbstractIn this paper, new oscillation criteria for the third-order quasilinear neutral differential equation $$\left( {a\left( t \right)\left( {z''\left( t \right)} \right)^\gamma } \right)^\prime + q\left( t \right)x^\gamma \left( {\tau \left( t \right)} \right) = 0, t \geqslant t_0 ,$$ are established, where z(t) = x(t) + p(t)x(δ(t)), and γ is a ratio of odd positive integers. Those results extend the oscillation criteria due to Sun [SUN, Y. G.: New Kamenev-type oscillation criteria for second-order nonlinear differential equations with damping, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 291 (2004) 341–351] to the equation, and complement the existing results in literature. Two examples are provided to illustrate the relevance of our main theorems.

AbstractFor the third-order differential equationy′″ = ƒ(t, y, y′, y″), where, questions involving ‘uniqueness implies uniqueness’, ‘uniqueness implies existence’ and ‘optimal length subintervals of (a, b) on which solutions are unique’ are studied for a class of two-point boundary-value problems.
