The paper calls attention to the most symmetric interpenetration patterns of honeycomb layers. To the best of my knowledge, such patterns remained unknown so far. In my contribution a rigorous derivation of such patterns is given that makes use of a new approach to interpenetrating nets. The results are presented in a broad context of structural chemistry and crystal engineering.

Abstract The degree-based topological indices are numerical graph invariants which are used to correlate the physical and chemical properties of a molecule with its structure. Para-line graphs are used to represent the structures of molecules in another way and these representations are important in structural chemistry. In this article, we study certain well-known degree-based topological indices for the para-line graphs of V-Phenylenic 2D lattice, V-Phenylenic nanotube and nanotorus by using the symmetries of their molecular graphs.

The kinetics of the unimolecular isomerization reaction[Formula: see text]have been studied. The ΔH≠ values in kcal mol−1 are 36.8 ± 2.0 (M = M′ = Mn ), 46.8 ± 0.5 (M = M′ = Re ), 39.2 ± 2.8 (M = Mn, M′ = Re ). The mechanism of the rearrangement is discussed.
