Ordered mesoporous γ-Al2O3 with high thermal stability and low-level residual chlorine is obtained by optimizing sol–gel parameters and silicon content.
In an acetic acid assisted sol–gel system, nanosize spherical mesoporous alumina (Figure Q) and ordered mesoporous alumina (Figure S) were synthesized using different mole ratios of n(acetic acid)/n(Al) and synthesis temperatures.
Cobalt and iron clusters dispersed over ordered mesoporous γ-Al2O3 enable stable conversion of methane and carbon dioxide to syngas. Tungsten containing catalysts deactivate with TOS. Ceria–zirconia redox promotion is crucial for preventing carbon accumulation.
