Ruthenium oxide, Manganese oxide and (Ru:Mn)O2 composite thin films have been prepared by 0.02M Ruthenium chloride and Manganese acetate solutions respectively on stainless steel substrates by sol-gel spin coating method. Layer by layer deposition of RuO2 and MnO2 was done for composite films. RuO2: MnO2 composite thin films have been demonstrated to be an excellent material for Supercapacitor application when evaluated with RuO2 and MnO2 thin film electrodes with respect to XRD, SEM, CV, CP and EIS studies. As a result, high specific capacitance of 515 F/g at 10 mV/s with excellent stability and long cycle life was obtained, where specific power and energy were as high as 15.38 Wh/kg and 4.06 KW/kg respectively with loading weight of 0.13 mg/cm2 .Composite films showed changes in structural and morphological features which was admiring for supercapacitor applications. The electrochemical impedance measurement was carried out in 0.1M KOH in the frequency range 10 to 105 Hz. From the analysis it can be concluded that mixed oxide composites have superior capacitive performance to single transition metal oxides as electrodes.

AbstractFerroelectric composite thin films of x-SBT/PVDF with different SBT content (weight ratios of SBT to PVDF, x = 0 %, 5 %, 10 %, 15 %, 20 %) were prepared by spin-coating method. The crystal structures of x-SBT/PVDF films were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), respectively. Experimental results demonstrated that both α, β-phases PVDF and the layered perovskite SBT co-existed in the x-SBT/PVDF samples. With an increase of SBT content in the x-SBT/PVDF thin films, both the dielectric constant and the saturated polarization were also increased, compared with those of pure PVDF thin film. More importantly, when the SBT content in the x-SBT/PVDF thin films was larger than 15 %, the coercive field of x-SBT/PVDF thin films was also decreased.

Barium titanate thin films were prepared by spin coating deposition technique of an acetic precursor sol and sintered at 750, 900 and 1050?C. Phase composition of the obtained thin films was characterized by X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy. Their morphology was analysed by scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. Dielectric properties of thin films sintered at 750 and 900 ?C were characterized by LCD device, where the influence of sintering temperature on dielectric permittivity and loss tangent was inspected. It was concluded that higher sintering temperature increases grain size and amount of tetragonal phase, hence higher relative permittivity was recorded. The almost constant relative permittivity in the measured frequency (800Hz-0.5MHz) and temperature (25-200?C) ranges as well as low dielectric loss are very important for the application of BaTiO3 films in microelectronic devices.

AbstractNanocomposites of phenoxy-substituted vanadyl phthalocyanine with a t-conjugated polymer, poly(benzimidazobenzophenanthroline ladder), have been prepared from their Lewis acid complexes in organic solvents. The resulting composite thin films obtained by spin-coating have excellent optical transparency and interesting composition-dependent morphology and photoelectronic properties. Enhanced photoconductivity, compared to the components, was observed in some composites with discrete nanoscale metallophthalocyanine aggregates.
