Conjugated porous polymers based on 1,3,5-triazine and dibenzo[b,d]thiophene sulfone (DBTSO) units show excellent solar water splitting ability. A high hydrogen evolution rate of 16 287 μmol g−1 h−1 is achieved.

A novel hybrid photocatalyst (graphene and Pt comodified CdS nanowires) was prepared for hydrogen evolution. The as-obtained samples showed a high hydrogen evolution rate of 3984 μmol h−1 g−1, which is almost 4 times higher than that of bare CdS nanowires.

Ag2O/g-C3N4 shows a high hydrogen evolution rate from water splitting. It is much more efficient than g-C3N4 and Pt/g-C3N4.

The hydrogen evolution rate of PDPP3B-O4 with butoxy chain was 5.53 mmol h−1 g−1 with 1% Pt loading (λ > 400 nm), increased 110 times than PDPP3B-C8 with octyl chain due to wider absorption spectrum and better wettability via side chain engineering.
