Spacecraft power system simulation involves the coupling of electrical, thermal and control domains. At present, the modeling and simulation of multi-domain physical system mainly uses the single-domain software to establish a single-domain model, and solves the unified multi-domain modeling and simulation through the interface between the software or using HLA. But it cannot fully support the modeling and simulation of multi-domain physical system, and the model has poor reusability and extensibility. As a multi-domain modeling language, Modelica language supports acausal modelling, unified multi-domain modeling, object-oriented physical modeling and hybrid modeling. So it is widely used in the aerospace area. In this paper, Modelica language is used to establish module library of spacecraft power system on simulation platform MWorks, and the multi-domain simulation model of spacecraft power system is obtained by assembling each sub-model, and the performance of the model is simulated and analyzed so as to achieve the purpose of improving and verifying the model.

UML has been largely adopted as a standard modeling language. The emergence of UML from different modeling languages that refer to various system aspects causes a wide variety of completeness and correctness problems in UML models. Several methods have been proposed for dealing with correctness issues, mainly providing internal consistency rules but ignoring correctness and completeness with respect to the system requirements and the domain constraints. In this article, we propose addressing both completeness and correctness problems of UML models by adopting a domain analysis approach called application-based domain modeling (ADOM). We present experimental results from our study which checks the quality of application models when utilizing ADOM on UML. The results advocate that the availability of the domain model helps achieve more complete models without reducing the comprehension of these models.

In order to evaluate the ability of simulation of the software MapleSim, this paper introduces MapleSim software and its features. Experiments on two independent domains and one multi—domain physical are modeled and simulated. The multi—domain physical system has several outputs that can be shown as visible charts. Experiments demonstrate the MapleSim ability of modeling and simulation under complex condition. The result of simulation has highly reliability.

This paper describes a dynamic model of a wind farm and its nearest utility grid. It is intended to use this model in studies addressing the dynamic interaction between a wind farm and a power system, both during normal operation of the wind farm and during transient grid fault events. The model comprises the substation where the wind farm is connected, the internal power collection system of the wind farm, the electrical, mechanical and aerodynamic models for the wind turbines, and a wind model. The integrated model is built to enable the assessment of power quality and control strategies. It is implemented in the commercial dedicated power system simulation tool DIgSILENT.

Increased connectivity is required to implement novel coordination and control schemes. IEC 61850-based communication solutions have become popular due to many reasons—object-oriented modeling capability, interoperable connectivity and strong communication protocols, to name a few. However, communication infrastructure is not well-equipped with cybersecurity mechanisms for secure operation. Unlike online banking systems that have been running such security systems for decades, smart grid cybersecurity is an emerging field. To achieve security at all levels, operational technology-based security is also needed. To address this need, this paper develops an intrusion detection system for smart grids utilizing IEC 61850’s Generic Object-Oriented Substation Event (GOOSE) messages. The system is developed with machine learning and is able to monitor the communication traffic of a given power system and distinguish normal events from abnormal ones, i.e., attacks. The designed system is implemented and tested with a realistic IEC 61850 GOOSE message dataset under symmetric and asymmetric fault conditions in the power system. The results show that the proposed system can successfully distinguish normal power system events from cyberattacks with high accuracy. This ensures that smart grids have intrusion detection in addition to cybersecurity features attached to exchanged messages.
