A graphic-analytical method for determining temperature fields in the butt contour of a welded joint of a thin-walled tube with a base is presented. The method is based on the experimental data of temperature measurement at the reference points of the structure. The features of the elements of the welded joint made of carbon and high-alloy structural steels and the modes of electric arc welding were taken into account. A graphic-analytical method for determining temperature fields is proposed, which, on the basis of the theory of welding strains and stresses, makes it possible to determine temperature stresses and strains, both in the elements of the joint and in the contour of the weld.

A method for determining temperature stresses in a welded joint of a thin-walled pipe with a base is described. The method is based on experimental data of temperature measurement at reference points of the structure. The features of the elements of the welded joint made of carbon and high-alloy structural steels and the modes of electric arc welding were taken into account. The efficiency of using spline approximation of experimental data to obtain analytical dependences of the distribution of temperature fields and stresses, as well as to obtain a solution of the heat equation by numerical differentiation and integration for this case, is shown. Formulas for calculating temperature stresses for the case of an asymmetric temperature distribution in a cylinder under the action of a moving high-intensity heat source are obtained.

Abstract. The method of investigation of residual temperature stresses in the butt contour of the welded joint "shell – plate" made of carbon and high-alloy structural steels during multi-pass welding is described. The temperature problem was solved on the basis of the obtained experimental data of temperature measurement at the reference points of the structure during the application of the rollers. A solution is proposed that takes into account several stages, each of which corresponds to a specific intermediate temperature field due to the peculiarities of welding technology. The evaluation of residual stresses was carried out on the basis of the energy theory of plasticity, taking into account the dependences of the yield strength and elastic modulus of welded metals on temperature.

Based on the classic formula of J507 coated electrode, the welding rods were prepared by adding Fe41Co7Cr15Mo14C15B6Y2 Fe-based amorphous alloy or HO8A as welding core. The surface coating on Q235 was made by manual electric arc welding with two kinds of welding rods, while Ar2 gas is used to cool the weld layer. The microstructure and wearability of welded joint and the coating layer were investigated by the means of metallographic analysis, SEM,XRD and M-2000 wear tester. The results show that the coating layer is in the amorphous state, and the wearability of surface coating with Fe-based amorphous core welding rod is better than another.

Submerged arc welding is the most applicable and productive procedure when thick sections have to be welded. Nevertheless, the manufacturers of pressure vessels, pipelines, ships and offshore structures keep on looking for new and modern design solutions of equipments and technologies which should lead to increase of welding process productivity. For instance, the longitudinal welds of pipelines are, mostly, performed by submerged arc welding procedure with multiple arcs and/or multi-wires, such as twin, tandem or twin-tandem, in order to increase the process productivity. However, achievement of optimal mechanical properties of the welded joint should remain the most important quality criteria. It is well known that dependence of the mechanical and metallurgical changes on heat transfer plays a major role in obtaining of safe welded structures and preserving of their structural integrity. That is why the investigation of heat transfer induced by the welding process is required. Furthermore, setting of distance between thermal sources and its influence on the overlapping phenomenon of temperature fields should be explored when submerged double-arc welding procedure is applied. Three dimensional finite element model of butt welded joint - used for simulation of heat transfer in pipeline steel joint performed by submerged double-arc welding process - is developed and described in this paper. Numerical results and a comparative analysis related to the temperature distribution, thermal history, and temperature variation in cross section of the welded joint at different time steps are discussed. Finally, important conclusions regarding the influence of distance between thermal sources on thermal effects and temperature fields overlapping are drawn.

Abstract Welded installations failures of power plants, which are often result from a high degree of wear, requires suitable repairs. In the case of cracks formed in the weld bead of waterwall, weld bead is removed and new welded joint is prepared. However, it is associated with consecutive thermal cycles, which affect properties of heat affected zone of welded joint. This study presents the influence of multiple manual metal arc welding associated with repair activities of long operated waterwall of boiler steel on properties of repair welded joints. The work contains the results of macro and microscopic metallographic examination as well as the results of hardness measurements.

In order to optimize electric- arc welding (ERW) welded tube scheduling , the paper introduces data cleaning, data extraction and transformation in detail and defines the datasets of sample attribute, which is based on analysis of production process of ERW welded tube. Furthermore, Decision-Tree method is adopted to achieve data mining and summarize scheduling rules which are validated by an example.
