A single rf-compensated cylindrical Langmuir probe has been developed in order to characterise a plasma RF discharge. A circuit using radiofrequency filtering and the passive compensation method was employed to minimize the probe curve distortions. The effect of the rfcompensation on the probe measurements was discussed. The latter were performed at power and pressure of 50 W and 510-2–1.2 mbar, respectively. Compensated measurements of the electron energy distribution function (EEDF) and plasma parameters were conducted at powers ranging from 5 to 120 W and pressure of 0.3 mbar. They exhibit a transition between the stochastic electron heating mode operating at low powers and the secondary-electron emission heating mode (γ) operating at high powers. The electronic density increases from 1.5×109 to 3.2×1010 cm-3 while the effective electron temperature decreases from 3.7 to 2.3 eV. The EEDFs were found to be Druyvesteyn-like in the range of 5–80W and then evolve to the Maxwellian beyond 90W.

In order to detect the arc plasma, an in-depth analysis on the relationship between the technology and film properties is conducted in this article. In addition, a fast scanning Langmuir probe diagnostic system suitable for transient plasma diagnosis is also designed, coupled with the design scheme and schematic diagram. Regard the integrated circuit of MAX038 as the core,and utilize FET to input high-fidelity operational amplifier OPA604 as well as high power amplifier PA93 to complete the intelligent saw-tooth wave sweep frequency power with the output amplitude of ± 100V, output frequency ranging from 10Hz to 10MHz as well as the adjustable frequency and duty cycle. Then test the output waveform and the results show that the power module can precisely generate triangle wave, saw-tooth wave, rectangular wave (including square wave) and sine wave signal.

Abstract A newly designed divertor Langmuir probe diagnostic system has been installed in a rare closed divertor of the HL-2A tokamak and steadily operated for the study of divertor physics involved edge-localized mode (ELM) mitigation, detachment and redistribution of heat flux, etc. Two sets of probe arrays including 274 probe tips were placed at two ports (approximately 180° separated toroidally), and the spatial and temporal resolutions of this measurement system could reach 6 mm and 1 s, respectively. A novel design of the ceramic isolation ring can ensure reliable electrical insulation property between the graphite tip and the copper substrate plate where plasma impurities and the dust are deposited into the gaps for a long experimental time. Meanwhile, the condition monitoring and mode conversion between single and triple probe of the probe system could be conveniently implemented via a remote control station. The preliminary experimental result shows that the divertor Langmuir probe system is capable of measuring the high spatiotemporal parameters involved the plasma density, electron temperature, particle flux as well as heat flux during the ELMy H-mode discharges.
