Taxonomic notes on three Australian and Norfolk Island species of Glycine Willd. (Fabaceae: Phaseolae) including the choice of a Neotype for G.clandestina Wendl.

Explanations are made for the choice of a neotype from Kurnell, Botany Bay, N.S.W., Australia. A new combination is made for G. microphylla from Australia (Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania) and Norfolk Island. A new species, G. arenaria, is described from the East Kimberley District of Western Australia, and the Northern Territory. The three species are illustrated in detail. Keys are provided to distinguish these taxa from their allies.

Taxonomic revision of the genus Bubastes Laporte & Gory, 1836. Thirteen new species are described: Bubastes barkeri sp. nov. (New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria), B. deserta sp. nov. (South Australia), B. dichroa sp. nov. (Western Australia), B. flavocaerulea sp. nov. (New South Wales, Queensland), B. hasenpuschi sp. nov. (Queensland), B. iridiventris sp. nov. Cladonema timmsii, sp. nov., is described from Blue Lagoon, an inland saline lake on Eyre Peninsula, near Cactus Beach, due south of Penong, Australia. It is a small medusa with a bell height and diameter of about 2.0mm. It differs from its congeners in having (1) sexually dimorphic gonads, i.e., the males bearing six radially arranged gonadal pouches on the stomach wall, the females lacking gonadal pouches, having instead smooth gonads; (2) different arrangements of nematocyst warts on the main tentacle branches (two rows) and side branches (one row). It is further characterized by having (1) nine simple radial canals, each corresponding with a tentacle bulb bearing a 7-branched stinging tentacle and about six suctorial branches; (2) six oral tentacles with very short stalks, each bearing a terminal nematocyst knob; (3) dark red, lensed ocelli. This is the first report of a species of Cladonema from Australian waters; members of the genus are also reported herein from the Northern Territory and New South Wales.

New records are given for Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, Northern Territory and Western Australia. New distributional records are provided for many species.

A new assemblage containing twenty-two species of trilobites and agnostids is described from the Goyder Formation (Cambrian Series 3) in the Ross River Syncline and Gardiner Ranges of the Amadeus Basin, Northern Territory, central Australia. New trilobite taxa described include the genus, Trephina gen. nov., and four new species Adelogonus prichardi sp. nov., Hebeia stewarti sp. nov., Liostracina joyceae sp. nov., and Trephina ranfordi sp. nov. Two agnostid taxa previously known only from Antarctica, Ammagnostus antarcticus Bentley, Jago & Cooper, 2009 and Hadragnostus helixensis Jago & Cooper, 2005, are also documented. Of the two agnostid species, the latter is the most age diagnostic, previously reported from the Cambrian Series 3 (Guzhangian; late Mindyallan; Glyptagnostus stolidotus Zone) Spurs Formation in Northern Victoria Land. This age for the Goyder Formation assemblage is supported by the co-occurrence of the trilobites Biaverta reineri Öpik, 1967, Blackwelderia repanda Öpik, 1967, Henadoparia integra Öpik, 1967, Monkaspis cf. travesi (Öpik, 1967), Nomadinis pristinus Öpik, 1967, Paraacidaspis? priscilla (Öpik, 1967), and Polycyrtaspis cf. flexuosa Öpik, 1967, also known from the late Mindyallan (G. stolidotus Zone) successions of the neighbouring Georgina Basin (Northern Territory and Queensland). The generic assemblage of the Goyder Formation is also similar to those from the Guzhangian (Mindyallan) of other parts of Australia (New South Wales, South Australia, and Western Australia), in addition to East Antarctica and North and South China.

A new genus, Wundacaenis, is erected for three new species of Australian caenid mayflies. The genus is diagnosed by possession of distinctive lobes on the anterolateral margins of the mesonotum. The distribution of Wundacaenis extends from the Kimberleys in Western Australia, through the Alligator Rivers Region in the Northern Territory, and down the eastern coast to the Shoalhaven River in New South Wales.
