The orthorhombic to tetragonal phase transition in (Ba0.92Ca0.08)(Zr0.05Ti0.95)O3was investigated using high-temperature X-ray diffraction between 260 and 333 K. The results established the presence of tetragonal (P4mm) and orthorhombic (Amm2) phase co-existence in the temperature range of 293 ≤T≤ 313 K. The tetragonal phase was found to increase from 27% at 293 K to 76% at 313 K. The structural refinement and line-profile analysis ruled out the presence of an intermediate monoclinic structure duringP4mm→Amm2 crossover. The analysis shows a pure orthorhombic (Amm2) structure forT< 293 K and tetragonal forT> 313 K.

PLZT of the compositions 0≤L≤12, and 0≤T≤10 was studied in order to describe the structure of the phases as a function of composition. This range contains a mixed region with PLZT+La2Zr2O7, an orthorhombic, a rhombohedral (hexagonal) phase, a tetragonal phase, and a mixture of different PLZT phases. Each phase pure composition is described by X-ray diffraction.

AbstractIn this study it is shown that the antiferrodistortive phase transition in titanite, CaTiSiOIn order to study the stepwise structural changes synchrotron radiation was used to collect X-ray diffraction data at 100 K, 295 K and 530 K on the 4-circle diffractometer at HASYLAB using a wavelength of 0.560(1) Å. A total of 2292 reflections were recorded at 100 K, 1540 at 295 K and 1442 at 530 K and reduced to 705 (100 K), 707 (295 K) and 358 (530 K) unique observations respectively (sin

x Pb ( In 1/2 Nb 1/2) O 3- Pb ( Mg 1/3 Nb 2/3) O 3- PbTiO 3(x PIN –y PMN –z PT ) ternary ceramics with morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) composition were synthesized by columbite precursor method. x PIN –y PMN –z PT phase diagram was investigated by x-ray diffraction and dielectric measurements. According to the results of dielectric measurements, the Curie temperatures (Tc) and rhombohedral to tetragonal phase transition temperature (Tr−t) were found to be in the range of 173–212°C and 114–155°C, respectively, indicating that the Tr-t was increased with adding PIN component. In the MPB region, the highest Tr-t = 155° C was found in 0.32PIN–0.38PMN–0.30PT ceramic, that greatly expanded temperature usage range.
