Cytokines are proteins secreted by cells of innate and acquired immunity, produced in response to various antigens and responsible for mediating several function of these cells. Our study evaluated the profile of cytokines interleukin 5 (IL-5) and interferon gamma (IFN-γ), induced in lymphocytes of broiler chickens in response to secondary fungal metabolites ochratoxin A (OTA) and deoxynivalenol (DON) at concentrations of 0.001, 0.01, 0.1 and 1 μg/ml. The quantification of the cytokines was analysed at 24, 48 and 72 h after incubation with mycotoxins, using real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). The results obtained showed that OTA induced mRNA synthesis of IL-5 at concentrations 0.001, 0.1 and 1 μg/ml after 24 h of lymphocyte incubation, while at 48 h only the expression of the IL-5 cytokine at a concentration of 1 μg/ml (P<0.05) was detected. DON in a concentration of 1 μg/ml induced the expression of IL-5 in the lymphocytes only at 48 h post-incubation period (P<0.05). Regarding IFN-γ, gene expression was not observed in the lymphocytes of broiler chickens incubated with OTA and DON. The data obtained represent a profile of response mediated by T helper 2 cells to the exposure of broiler chicken immune cells to different concentrations of OTA and DON.

To conduct the influence of salinomycin & anticoccidial vaccine onpathological changes in intestine of broiler chickens experimentalinfected with Eimeria spp. By using 40 broiler chicks divided randomlyto four groups( 10 chicks of each group ) First group vaccinated withanticoccidial vaccine (coccivac) at 8 days of age in drinking water whilethe second group feeded salinomycin in concentration 60ppm from oneday old ,the third group left non vaccinated nor given salinomycin as acontrol group at(26 days )of age chicks in that three groups infected withdifferent species of Eimeria spp .with high dose (744x74³) Oocyst /chickby group inoculation & the fourth group consider negative control notvaccinated or treated .At (33 days)of chicks age all the chicks were killedfor measuring lesion score of intestine which their results +1.75 , +3, +4with mortality rate 0%,10%,20% for vaccinated ,salinomycine treated &control groups respectively then took samples for Histopathologicalchanges the results pointed high pathological changes in intestine ofpositive control group with sever necrosis & degeneration of epitheliawith sever tissue damage companied with maturation first & secondgeneration sporozoite in the endothelial layer of intestine. While thepathological changes was less sever in salinomycine treated group withnecrosis & degeneration of epithelial layers accompanied with exist ofsporozoite in endothelial layer of intestine . while the vaccinated groupshowed no clear pathological changes in intestine except hyperplasia ofglobal cells & infiltration of lymphocytes cells in the layers of intestine ,it was concluded that the vaccine which was given to chicks provide goodprotection & decrease dangerous of coccidiosis infection .

The objectives of this study were to evaluate humoral immunity against Newcastle disease (ND) virus in vaccinated chickens in terms of serum HI antibody titers in broiler and layer chickens and to determine pathological changes in vaccinated chickens. A total of 240 serum samples were collected from broiler (135) and layer (105) chickens from Barishal Sadar, Babugonj and Gournadi Upazilas of Barishal district in Bangladesh after two weeks of scheduled vaccination programme. The overall detection of Hemagglutination inhibition (HI) antibodies against Newcastle disease virus was 62.2% in broiler and 83.8% in layer chickens. The percentages of specific HI antibody titer in broiler chickens were 57.5, 70 and 48 in 1-2 weeks, 3-4 weeks, and 4-above weeks age groups respectively where in layer chickens were 85, 80, 90, 80 and 80 in 15-24 weeks, 25-34 weeks, 35-44 weeks, 45-54 weeks and > 55 weeks of age groups respectively. For both broiler and layer chicken’s protective antibody titers were found higher in adult than in young chickens. Out of 240 samples HI titers of 172 (71.67%) samples were found at protective level, 42 (17.5%) samples were at marginal level and 26 (10.83%) samples were below protective level. Among 26 samples of non-protective level, 21 were broiler and 5 were layer chicken. Out of 26 samples, 10 (38.46%) were found apparently infected with NDV where 8 (38.09%) were broiler and 2 (40%) were layer. The apparently infected birds were diagnosed on the basis of postmortem findings and histopathological lesions. Results of the present investigation may help to design appropriate vaccination schedule for ND in broiler and layer chickens and thus to protect chickens from ND in field condition. Asian J. Med.
