Control of Steam-Turbine Regulators at Transition to an Island StateThe simple operating algorithm is presented for steam turbine regulators of type Simadin (Siemens) at emergency switching-off of the generator from system together with some, unknown in advance, load. The given situation is known as "a transition to an island state (regime)". Keeping of turbine speed and preservation of its rating value at a generator blackout when its own needs will be load only, is an easy problem. When the generator remains in its island it is necessary to solve "on-line" two additional problems: to reveal a situation "island" and to estimate the island load for translating a regulator on the new task and providing dynamic stability of transition. The algorithm was tried and entered successfully into practice on Varna TPP, CEZ GROUP (Prague), in 2008.

Traditionally Germany has been categorized as the archetypical conservative welfare state, a categorization not systematically questioned in much of the comparative welfare state regime literature. For many scholars Germany was largely stuck and unable to reform its coordinated market economy and welfare state arrangements at the turn of the twenty-first century, due to a large number of veto points and players and the dominance of two ‘welfare state parties’. More recent research has highlighted a widening and deepening of the historically institutionalized social protection dualism, whilst at the same time significant family policy transformations, which can be considered as partially in line with the social investment paradigm, have been emphasized. This chapter sets out to sketch the main policy developments and aims to identify political determinants of social policy change in Germany.

The global tourism reality is changing, and not only because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This reality is especially representative in countries such as Spain, which are highly dependent on the income generated by the tourism sector. In these destinations, it is necessary to seek innovation and specialization in the sector in order to achieve new business models. This need is even more pressing in destinations overcrowded by the sun and beach effect, as is the case of Mallorca. The proposed work combines the concepts of sports tourism with the development of a wealth-generating business model that will contribute to promoting a tourism that is sustainable, environmentally friendly and deseasonalized. On the other hand, the proposed work will contribute to promoting integration and equality in the participation of women in sports through the development of a model based on the promotion of women’s football. Using the methodology of case analysis, the results of all the approaches outlined are provided, and we obtained a wealth-generation model that is easily replicable and sustainable over time. This work provides a solution to the combination of a sustainable business model that links responsible tourism, the promotion of women’s sport and the generation of wealth.

This paper investigates the American option price in a two-state regime-switching model. The dynamics of underlying are driven by a Markov-modulated Geometric Wiener process. That means the interest rate, the appreciation rate, and the volatility of underlying rely on hidden states of the economy which can be interpreted in terms of Markov chains. By means of the homotopy analysis method, an explicit formula for pricing two-state regime-switching American options is presented.

Abstract Generalized capacitor (inductor) is constitutively modeled by expressing charge (magnetic flux) in terms of voltage (current) memory as a sum of instantaneous and power type hereditary contributions and it is proved to be a dissipative electric element by thermodynamic analysis. On the contrary, generalized capacitor (inductor) as a generative electric element is modeled using the same form of the constitutive equation, but by expressing voltage (current) in terms of charge (magnetic flux) memory. These constitutive models are used in transient and steady state regime analysis of the series RC and RL circuits subject to electromotive force, as well as in the study of circuits' frequency characteristics including asymptotic behavior.

We study finite maturity American-style stock loans under a two-state regime-switching economy. We present a thorough semi-analytic discussion of the optimal redeeming prices, the values and the fair service fees of the stock loans, under the assumption that the volatility of the underlying is in a state of uncertainty.
