Energy consumption for air conditioning systems (air conditioning system) increased along with the increasing need for fresh air and comfortable in the room especially apartments. FAC system (Floor Air Conditioning) is growing because it is more energy efficient than CAC (Ceiling Air Conditioning) system. However, the position of the AC supply is on the lower level at the FAC system causes draft discomfort becomes greater as air supply closer to the occupants so that thermal comfort can be reduced. Heat mixture of windows, exterior walls, kitchen, and occupants in the studio apartment affect thermal comfort in the room too. This study aims to determine the position of the AC supply which has the best thermal comfort of FAC system in the studio apartment. It can be done by analyzing ADPI (Air Diffusion Performance Index), the distribution of air temperature, wind speed, RH (Relative Humidity), and DR (Draft Risk) to change the position of the AC supply supported by CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation. This result prove that AC position 2 (on wall near the kitchen) is more comfortable than AC position 1 (on the bathroom wall) because AC position 2 away from occupied areas, thereby reducing the occurrence of draught discomfort.

The focus of this work is to simulate and optimize thermal comfort in a ship air-conditioning system by evaluating the performance of different types of air supply outlets. Thermal comfort analyses were performed in Solidworks Flow Simulation software by changing the number, type and position of air supply outlets and the comfort was optimized by evaluating the values of temperature, velocity, PMV (Predicted mean vote) & PPD (Predicted Percentage Dissatisfied). It was concluded from the results obtained from different analyses that air supply outlet is a vital part in any type of HVAC (Heating ventilation & air conditioning) system design, as its number, type and position has significant effect on the air distribution and thermal comfort in a subject space. It was also deduced that improper selection of air supply outlet can result in room air stagnation, unacceptable temperature gradients, and undesirable velocities in the occupied zone that may lead to occupant discomfort. Through this work the importance and effectiveness of CFD (computational fluid dynamics) design tools, in the design & optimization of HVAC systems has been evaluated and it was concluded that CFD design software like Solidworks flow simulation provide an excellent provision to validate different aspects of HVAC design before actual construction.

The personal air conditioning system is used in the battery electric vehicle instead of the traditional one and the experiment validated that this system can make passengers feel comfort after four minutes. All the system can only consume electric power 338.8 W, which is less than the traditional air conditioning of cabin. A simplified 3-D N box vehicle cabin model was created to simulate the thermal distribution under this system by using the CFD analysis and the results of calculation have good agreement with the experiment recording.

The excellent desk personalized ventilation scheme is found in this paper by the way of comparing the four winter air supply schemes, basing on the numerical simulation software of CFD. We find that air supply quality and air supply angle are both the important factors to personalized ventilation individual comfort in winter. The air temperature and velocity surrounding the human body of the excellent desk personalized ventilation scheme are discussed. It comes to the conclusions that under simulated conditions the excellent desk personalized ventilation scheme can better satisfy the human body comfort on the surrounding air temperature and healthy than the traditional air conditioning, and it is easier to achieve energy saving too.

Expansion of brasilians cities worsen noise pollution in these places, forcing people to maintain their doors and windows closed. Domestic environment enclosing lead to necessity of air conditioning system, however the frequent use of the equipment may cause many health problems, such as respiratory difficulties and spread of diseases , not to mention high costs with energy. Considering these facts, there is the need of soundproofing windows with air supply , that allows passage of air without noise passage, guarantee a well-ventilated environment, with thermic and acoustic comfort without the use of acclimatisation systems . we have developed two prototypes with significant opening that allows air supply (passage) (0,35m2) and noise reduction (Rw+Ctr) reaching 8 to 10 dB. In the first study, we considered people inhabiting really noisy surrounding areas, who has already installed a regular window. In this particular case, we developed a soundproofing window air supply that can be installed over the existing one. A second study considered new constructions to focus the environment where the person sleeps and then elaborate a soundproofing window air supply for bedrooms.

The objective in this study is to evaluate thermal environment of a room with an advanced ceiling hidden type air-conditioner using numerical simulation. As the characteristic of the air-conditioner, it supplies a weak airflow from a large inlet to a room. Circulator fans are fixed on the ceiling. Numerical simulation is performed to a room with the air-conditioner. PMV [1] is calculated from the obtained data and thermal sensation of the people is investigated. From the PMV distribution, it was found that this sensation was improved by the advanced air-conditioner.
