This chapter examines the phenomenon of backsliding in the post-accession process of Europeanisation in Slovenia as one of the Central and Eastern European member states of the EU. It seeks to explain the rise of compliance problems with the EU's values (i.e., de-Europeanisation) in Slovenia, which turned a former EU star pupil into a troublesome member state. The chapter analyses sources of economic and democratic backsliding in times of polycrises in the EU that stem from the state's domestic environment and confirms the determining role of decision-makers over the political system. Given the importance and widely shared image of Slovenia as a role model for the candidate states in the Western Balkans, the chapter also addresses the potential impact of Slovenia's de-Europeanisation turn for its role as a bridge between the EU and the Western Balkans region.

Although the skills required to solve isolated robotics problems are reaching amazing performances recently, we propose the evaluation of such individual solutions in fully integrated robot systems tested in real daily situations like those presented at international robotics competitions. The simulation Domestic Standard Platform League (sDSPL), which utilizes the HSR simulator developed for the World Robot Summit, surges from the necessity to standardise and spread the research on Domestic Service Robots where a series of solutions can be tested to solve a general-purpose task in a standard domestic environment; this approach has been proven successful at several international competitions, namely, the RoboCup Japan Open, the Mexican Tournament of Robotics, and the RoboCup 2021.

**This work was accepted to The 39th Annual Conference of the Robotics Society of Japan.

Expansion of brasilians cities worsen noise pollution in these places, forcing people to maintain their doors and windows closed. Domestic environment enclosing lead to necessity of air conditioning system, however the frequent use of the equipment may cause many health problems, such as respiratory difficulties and spread of diseases , not to mention high costs with energy. Considering these facts, there is the need of soundproofing windows with air supply , that allows passage of air without noise passage, guarantee a well-ventilated environment, with thermic and acoustic comfort without the use of acclimatisation systems . we have developed two prototypes with significant opening that allows air supply (passage) (0,35m2) and noise reduction (Rw+Ctr) reaching 8 to 10 dB. In the first study, we considered people inhabiting really noisy surrounding areas, who has already installed a regular window. In this particular case, we developed a soundproofing window air supply that can be installed over the existing one. A second study considered new constructions to focus the environment where the person sleeps and then elaborate a soundproofing window air supply for bedrooms.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the roles played by (or assigned to) migrant women to Spain in Juan José Campanella's television series Vientos de agua (2005). The issue of contemporary migrations, very present in social reality but, at the same time, sometimes overlooked, demands greater attention when focusing on the satellite role of the female presence in this context of displacement. Although the 21st century appears to be a propitious time for the deconstruction of mandates and preconceived images, even in a current audiovisual language such as that of the series, models that represent women linked to prototypical roles of service, accompaniment, domestic environment and meeting the needs of others still prevail.

Soon after the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, foreign translation of Chinese culture was put on the agenda. Lu Xun’s short stories were selected as representative works and translated into English by Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang (hereinafter referred to as “the Yangs”) in the 1950s and 1960s under the special international and domestic environment, and they have played an important role in spreading Chinese culture to the world. Based on André Lefevere’s Manipulation Theory, especially its three elements, namely, poetics, ideology and patronage, this paper examines the translation methods adopted by the Yangs in their translation of Lu Xun’s short story “Master Gao”. Through example analysis, the article concludes that the Yangs mainly adopted literal translation under the influence of poetics, ideology and patronage in the then special social background. It is hoped that the research aims to provide a theoretical and practical reference for future translation and dissemination of Chinese literary works to the world.
