Abstract In this study, flexural behaviour of the Ferrocement panels of size 500 mm x 500 mm x 50 mm with partial replacement of ceramic powder under monotonic loading is observed. All the Ferrocement panels were casted with cement mortar of mix proportion 1:4 with w/c ratio of 0.45 and all the specimens were casted with single layer of galvanized welded wire mesh of 2mm diameter with mesh opening of 12.5 mm x 12.5 mm. The ceramic powder is administered at various percentage replacement of cement by weight and the adopted variations are 0%, 5%, 10% and 15%. Compressive strength of the mortar mix for all the different ratios of ceramic powder was carried out and the results were discussed. It can be concluded that the Panel with 10% replacement of ceramic powder offers appreciable results than the other panels.

In this paper, Vibration-suspense-type process is used to develop a new material, metal or porcelain powder coated with resin or ceramic powder, then it can be sintered and formed without large-power laser. One set of vibration-suspense-type powder-coating equipment is developed and powder material suitable for SLS can be prepared with the equipment. The moving status and the moving process of powder granule in the vibration-suspense-type process are also analyzed. Based on the equipment, Polystyrene-Al powder material, which is suitable for SLS, is successfully prepared. And the optimum process is discussed.

Transformation toughening by ZrO2 inclusions in various ceramic matrices has led to improved mechanical properties in these materials. Although the processing of these materials usually involves standard ceramic powder processing techniques, an alternate method of producing ZrO2 particles involves the devtrification of a ZrO2-containing glass. In this study the effects of glass composition (ZrO2 concentration) and heat treatment on the morphology of the crystallization products in a MgO•Al2•SiO2•ZrO2 glass was investigated.
