AbstractWe conduct an online survey to explore how Chinese people living in Germany perceive and react to group criticism in the context of the debate on the Wuhan Diary, a chronicle about life during the lockdown in Wuhan. We find that the majority rating of the book is a lukewarm “neither like nor dislike.” Most participants are open to criticism in principle and do not agree that the book only spreads so-called “negative-energy”. However, many participants were skeptical about the objectivity of the book and concerned about its potential use by so-called anti-China forces, even though the degree of blind patriotism is relatively low in our sample. The factors influencing the book’s evaluation are intriguing: perceived Western sentiment, media exposure and uncritical patriotism all affect COVID-19-related conspiracy beliefs, which in turn lead to a more negative evaluation of the book. A cluster analysis reveals two groups which differ in terms of properties like blind patriotism, belief in certain conspiracies, and also demographic parameters. Our results shed light on identity politics, motivated beliefs, and collective narcissism.

This meta-analysis integrates 47 empirical studies, comprising 89,826 participants from 21 countries, to examine the cumulative effects and potential moderators of exposure to COVID-19 news and information on attendant emotions, appraisals, and behaviors. Overall media exposure indicated only small positive effect sizes on adverse psychological reactions, though it was moderately and positively associated with disease concern and preventive measures. Social media exposure was associated with all these responses, but traditional news media exposure was only associated with disease concern. The associations between overall media exposure and adverse psychological reactions were moderated by COVID-19 experience, healthcare profession, and country type.

This study investigated various determinants of the differential level of skill as perceivedby farm youth engaged in agripreneurship. The existing agripreneurial skill levels weredelineated by developing a composite index constituting of 5 skill dimensions. Purposivesampling was adopted to select the rural youth belonging to farming background andinvolved in agripreneurship for higher income in five districts of Odisha representing fivedifferent agro-climatic zones. A total of 250 farm youth was sampled from the selected 10blocks. The findings of the study revealed that, annual income from primary occupation, agripreneurial training, social media exposure and agripreneurship experience havesignificantly affected the existing level of skill possessed by farm youth with regard toagripreneurship. The findings affirm the need for extension personnel to understand theexisting skill level, capacities, abilities of farm youth along with the factors determiningthem in order to create awareness and build capacities required for agripreneurship.

Introduction Vitamin A has been one of the most important micronutrients which are necessary for the health of the children. In developing countries, the supplementation of vitamins under a regular schedule had different constraints. Awareness, access, and resource limitations were usually the problem. In the current study, we analyzed the data from the demographic health survey (EDHS) 2016 to uncover the spatial distribution, predictors, and to provide additional information for policymaking and interventions. Methods In this analysis, we applied intra-community correlation to measure the random effect; global Moran’s I to test the nature of variance in the null model; proportional change in variance to check the variance of null and neighborhood in subsequent models. We used STATA 15 for prediction; ArcGIS 10.7 for the spatial distribution of vitamin A supplementation; SaTscan 9.6.1 to specify location of clustering were the applied soft wares. After confirming that the traditional logistic regression cannot explore the variances, we applied multilevel logistic regression to examine predictors where p-value <0.25 was used to include variables into the model and p-value<0.05 was used to declare associations. We presented the result using means, standard deviations, numbers, and proportions or percent, and AOR with 95% CI. Result The vitamin A coverage was 4,029.22 (44.90%) in Ethiopia in 2016. The distribution followed some spatial geo-locations where Afar, Somali were severely affected (RR = 1.46, P-value < 0.001), some pockets of Addis Ababa (RR = 1.47, p-value <0.001), and the poor distribution also affected all other regions partially. Place of delivery 1.2(1–1.34), primary and secondary education 1.3 (1–1.6), media exposure 1.2(1.1–1.4), having work 1.4(1.2–1.5), and all visits of ANC were positively influenced the distribution. Conclusion The distribution of vitamin A coverage was not random as per the EDHS 2016 data. Regions like Afar, Somali, and some pocket areas in Addis inquires immediate interventions. Pastoralist, agrarian, and city administrations were all involved from severe to the lesser coverage in order. Since factors like Place of delivery, education, ANC, media exposure, and having work were showed positive associations, interventions considering awareness, access, and availability of service need more attention than ever.

The number of adolescent smokers in Indonesia are increasing with the highest prevalence on age 15-19. Implementation of smoke-free schools (SFS) aims to reduce adolescent smokers and protect school residents from cigarette smoke exposure. Public Senior High School 1 Cangkringan, Sleman has declared a SFS since 2019 by providing health promotion media such as posters and stickers in the school area. This study describes the implementation of SFS and to determine the relationship between health promotion media exposure and student compliance toward SFS regulations using quantitative methods with a cross-sectional design. Data collection was carried out through observation with checklists and online surveys with a google form. Sampling using accidental sampling method to 155 respondents and data analysis using SPSS version 17 with Chi-Square test. All respondents stated that the implementation of SFS is good and the results of observations showed that the input, process, and output indicators of SFS implementation had been fulfilled. Most of the students (83.2%) were exposed to high-level health promotion and 98,1% students obeyed the SFS regulations, There was a relationship between exposure to health promotion media in the form of posters with student compliance with SFS regulations ρ value ≤ α (0.004 ≤ 0.05). In conclusion, the high exposure to health promotion media has implications for the high compliance of students to SFS regulations.

The COVID-19 pandemic hastened the development of techniques and didactic sequences for online education, some that promoted learning, others that were lacking. In this contribution we |show how it was possible to achieve Ausubelian meaningful learning in Physics through remote teaching, by having as context planetology and habitability. These concepts may allow the development of expected specific competences described in the Brazilian Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC), that also have substantial media exposure and are possible to be developed in High School. At the end, the students have developed skills that allowed them to determine, based on real data, whether an exoplanet is habitable or not. Using Bardin's content analysis, it was possible to find evidence of meaningful learning of the intended skills and concepts.

The Spitzenkandidaten were meant to personalize European Parliament elections. This paper asks whether and through which channels the lead candidates were actually able to make themselves known among voters – a necessary precondition for any electoral effect. Combining panel surveys and online tracking data, the study explores candidate learning during the German 2019 European Parliament election campaign and relates learning to different types of news exposure, with a special focus on online news. The results show that learning was limited and unevenly distributed across candidates. However exposure to candidate-specific online news and most types of offline news helped to acquire knowledge. The findings imply that Spitzenkandidaten stick to voters’ minds when they get exposed to them, but that exposure is infrequent in high-choice media environments.
