Abstract This study concentrates on the problem of $H_\infty $ output tracking bumpless transfer control for a category of switched linear systems (SLSs). The $H_\infty $ output tracking bumpless transfer control problem is to ensure the SLSs to satisfy the bumpless transfer performance and the $H_\infty $ output tracking properties by co-design of a switching rule and a series of controllers. Firstly, a concept of the bumpless transfer performance for a system in this class is presented. Then, via a Lyapunov function scheme, criteria guaranteeing the bumpless transfer performance and the $H_\infty $ output tracking properties are established. The criteria allow the problem of the $H_\infty $ output tracking bumpless transfer control for subsystems is unsolvable. Finally, an example of controlling a turbofan model is offered for the verification on the effectiveness of the presented control strategy.

In this paper, nonlinear stochastic optimal control of multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) partially observable linear systems subjected to combined harmonic and wide-band random excitations is investigated. Based on the separation principle, the control problem of a partially observable system is converted into a completely observable one. The dynamic programming equation for the completely observable control problem is then set up based on the stochastic averaging method and stochastic dynamic programming principle, from which the nonlinear optimal control law is derived. To illustrate the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed control strategy, the responses of the uncontrolled and optimal controlled systems are respectively obtained by solving the associated Fokker–Planck–Kolmogorov (FPK) equation. Numerical results show the proposed control strategy can dramatically reduce the response of stochastic systems subjected to both harmonic and wide-band random excitations.

We focused on the stabilization of switched linear systems with time-delay and input saturation. First, the saturation part of each subsystem was dealt with by a new method and the system was transformed into a general switched system. Secondly, we proposed a sufficient condition for system stability based on Multi - Lyapunov Function. The sufficient condition is expressed into LMI and can be solved with MatLab. Further, we designed the system controller.
