This paper proves that the controller design for switched singularly perturbed systems can be synthesized from the controllers of individual slow–fast subsystems. Under the switching rules of individual slow–fast subsystems, switched singularly perturbed systems can be stabilized under a small value of ε. The switching rule is designed on the basis of state transformation of the individual subsystems.

AbstractThis paper presents a novel adaptive control for a class of nonlinear switched systems by introducing a sufficient condition for stabilization. Based on the possible instability of all sub-systems, a variable structure (VS) switching rule with an adaptive approach and sliding sector was offered. Moreover, the stability condition of the system can be determined by solving linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) to ensure asymptotic stability. The application of H∞ analysis of nonlinear switched systems was also investigated through the design of the mentioned adaptive control system and defining a VS switching rule. Finally, simulation results were presented to validate the novelty of the proposed method.

Abstract This study concentrates on the problem of $H_\infty $ output tracking bumpless transfer control for a category of switched linear systems (SLSs). The $H_\infty $ output tracking bumpless transfer control problem is to ensure the SLSs to satisfy the bumpless transfer performance and the $H_\infty $ output tracking properties by co-design of a switching rule and a series of controllers. Firstly, a concept of the bumpless transfer performance for a system in this class is presented. Then, via a Lyapunov function scheme, criteria guaranteeing the bumpless transfer performance and the $H_\infty $ output tracking properties are established. The criteria allow the problem of the $H_\infty $ output tracking bumpless transfer control for subsystems is unsolvable. Finally, an example of controlling a turbofan model is offered for the verification on the effectiveness of the presented control strategy.

This paper presents design and analysis of the switching rule based on affine switched systems, and simulation and experimental verifications are carried out for the Buck converter. Firstly, the switched system is modeled according to the dynamic characteristics of the Buck converter, and the affine switched systems are introduced. Secondly, a switching rule based on affine switched systems is introduced which takes the maximum Lyapunov function between the two sets of Lyapunov functions. Finally, the experiment verifies the closed loop control based on the Buck converter after the simulation. The real-time switching signal of the model is the real-time PWM waveform in the experiment. The experimental results show that the switching rule makes the system asymptotically stable.
