Sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy (SHLM) disease is considered to be an indolent and self-limiting pathology. However, severe morbidity and mortality have been attributed to complications of SHLM. Lower respiratory tract involvement is rarely reported and is often unfavorable, and carries a particularly grave prognosis. A case of SHLM is reported, in which the patient had lower respiratory and pleural involvement.

An amniocele, or contained uterine rupture, is a phenomenon in which there is herniation of the amniotic sac through a uterine defect, secondary to various causes. It is associated with severe morbidity and mortality. This case presents the findings in a 36-year-old female at 29 weeks gestation who was initially managed as antepartum haemorrhage secondary to placenta previa, based on ultrasound. Upon further imaging, an amniocele was diagnosed. This case report illustrates the importance of early identification of this life-threatening condition.

ABSTRACTRosai–Dorfman disease (RDD) or sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy (SHML) is a self-limiting, benign histiocytic disorder. We report a case of RDD mimicking lymphoma clinically and cytologically in a 3-year-old male child. The present case highlights the importance of cytology in the diagnosis of RDD along with cytological features of other differential diagnoses.

AbstractThe case of a 46-year-old man who presented with acute respiratory distress due to a tracheal mass is reported. The patient underwent endoscopic resection of the mass and the histopathology revealed scleroma. No other sites of involvement by scleroma were found. This case is reported because laryngotracheal involvement by scleroma as the only manifestation of this disease is extremely rare.
