We show that the well-known most general static and spherically symmetric exact solution to the Einstein-massless scalar equations given by Wyman is the same as one found by Janis, Newman and Winicour several years ago. We obtain the energy associated with this space–time and find that the total energy for the case of the purely scalar field is zero.

AbstractWe present the explicit construction of some multi-scalar field theories in $$(1+1$$ ( 1 + 1 ) dimensions supporting BPS (Bogomol’nyi–Prasad–Sommerfield) kink solutions. The construction is based on the ideas of the so-called extension method. In particular, several new interesting two-scalar and three-scalar field theories are explicitly constructed from non-trivial couplings between well-known one-scalar field theories. The BPS solutions of the original one-field systems will be also BPS solutions of the multi-scalar system by construction, and therefore we will analyse their linear stability properties for the constructed models.

Within the framework of FRW cosmology, we study the QCD modified ghost scalar field models of dark energy (DE) in the presence of both interaction and viscosity. For a spatially nonflat FRW universe containing modified ghost dark energy (MGDE) and dark matter (DM), we obtain the equation of state of MGDE, the deceleration parameter as well as a differential equation governing the MGDE density parameter. We also investigate the growth of structure formation for our model in a linear perturbation regime. Furthermore, we reconstruct both the dynamics and potentials of the quintessence, tachyon, K-essence and dilaton scalar field DE models according to the evolution of the MGDE density.
