The structure of the centrosymmetric title complex, [Cu(C5H9O2)2(C6H7NO)2], has the CuIIatom on a centre of inversion. The CuIIatom is six-coordinate with a distorted octahedral geometry, defined by the N and O atoms of the chelating 2-(2-hydroxymethyl)pyridine ligands and two carboxylate O atoms from two monodentate pivalate ions. The crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular C—H...O and intramolecular O—H...O hydrogen-bond interactions.

The title complex, [Co(C21H16N4)2][Co(NCS)4]·CH3OH, consists of one [Co{C(py)4}2]2+complex cation [C(py)4= tetrakis(pyridin-2-yl)methane], one [Co(NCS)4]2−complex anion and a methanol solvent molecule. In the cation, the CoIIatom is coordinated by six N atoms of two C(py)4ligands in a distorted octahedral geometry. In the anion, the CoIIatom is coordinated by the N atoms of four NCS−ligands in a distorted tetrahedral geometry. The methanol molecule is disordered and was modelled over three orientations (occupancies 0.8:0.1:0.1). There are two weak hydrogen-bond-like interactions between the methanol solvent molecule and NCS−ligands of the anion [O...S = 3.283 (3) and 3.170 (2) Å].

The title compound, (2,2′-bipyridine-κ2N,N′)triiodidomethyltin(IV), [Sn(CH3)I3(C10H8N2)], crystallizing in the non-centrosymmetric orthorhombic space groupPca21as an inversion twin, represents one of the few structurally characterized coordination compounds of an organotin(IV) trihalide with 2,2′-biypridine. Its distorted octahedral geometry shows a meridional arrangement of the I atoms and the methyl group is in-plane with the five-membered chelate ring. Asymmetric bonding of the biypridine ligand to the tin(IV) atom is reflected by different Sn—N bond lengths [2.268 (4) Åversus2.293 (4) Å] and caused by the statictranseffect of the methyl group. Sn—I bond lengths show some differences with respect to their orientation to the methyl group or the bipyridine ligand, respectively. Angular distortions in the coordination sphere of the SnIVatom mainly arise from the large I atoms. Distortion of the 2,2′-bipyridine ligand as a result of its coordination to the SnIVatom are described by the twisting angle of 2.5 (2)° between the least-squares planes of the two pyridine rings, as well as by the angle of 6.2 (2)° between the two lines through the pyridine-connecting C atoms and thepara-orientated C atoms. Directional intermolecular interactions are restricted to weak I...H van der Waals contacts.

There are three independent CdII ions in the title complex, {[Cd3(C10H3O8)2(H2O)4]·4H2O} n , one of which is coordinated by four O atoms from three 5-carboxybenzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylate ligands and by two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. The second CdII ion is coordinated by five O atoms from four 5-carboxybenzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylate ligands and by one water molecule also in a distorted octahedral geometry while the third CdII ion is coordinated by five O atoms from three 5-carboxybenzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylate ligands and by one water molecule in a highly distorted octahedral geometry. The 5-carboxybenzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylate ligands bridge the CdII ions, resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional structure. Intra- and intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds are present throughout the three-dimensional structure.

In the title complex, [Cd2Cl4(C6H12N4)(CH3OH)2] n , the hexamethylenetetramine (hmta) ligand is located on a twofold rotation axis and bridges four CdII ions through its four N atoms. Each CdII atom is coordinated, with a distorted octahedral geometry, by two N atoms from hmta ligands, two μ2-chloride anions, one terminal chloride anion and one methanol molecule. The μ2-chloride anions and hmta molecules link the CdII cations to form the three-dimensional polymeric structure. O—H...Cl hydrogen bonding between the methanol ligands and the terminal chloride anions is observed in the three-dimensional polymeric structure.

In the title complex, [Cd(NO3)2(C20H14N4)2]·2H2O, the CdII ion, which lies on a crystallographic twofold axis, is bis-chelated by two nitrate ligands and is coordinated by one tertiary N atom from each of two 1,3-bis(1H-benzimidazol-2-ylmethyl)benzene ligands in a distorted octahedral geometry. In the crystal structure, complex molecules and solvent water molecules are connected via hydrogen bonds to form a three-dimensional network.

The title compound, [Cu3(C7H3NO4)4(C2H8N2)2]·C2H8N2·4H2O, was obtained by the reaction of copper(II) acetate dihydrate with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (H2dipic) and ethylenediamine (en) in an aqueous solution. All of the CuII atoms in the trinuclear centrosymmetric title complex are six-coordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry with N2O4 and N4O2 environments for the outer and central CuII atoms, respectively. Various interactions, including numerous O—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen bonds and C—O...π stacking of the pyridine and carboxylate groups [O...centroid distances = 3.669 (2) and 3.668 (2) Å] are observed in the crystal structure.

The title complex, [Ti2Cl4{CH3C(CH2O)2(CH2OH)}2], lies across a centre of symmetry with a diethyl ether solvent molecule hydrogen bonded to the –CH2OH groups on either side of it. The TiIVatom is coordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry by a tripodal ligand and two terminal chloride atoms. There are three coordination modes for the tripodal ligand distinguishable on the basis of their very different Ti—O bond lengths. For the terminal alkoxo ligand, the Ti—O distance is 1.760 (1) Å, the asymmetric bridge system has Ti—O bond lengths of 1.911 (1) and 2.048 (1) Å. The Ti—O bond length for the alcohol O atom is the longest at 2.148 (1) Å.

The synthesis and crystal structure determination (at 293 K) of the title complex, Cs[Fe(C8H6BrN3OS)2], are reported. The compound is composed of two dianionicO,N,S-tridentate 5-bromosalicylaldehyde thiosemicarbazonate(2−) ligands coordinated to an FeIIIcation, displaying a distorted octahedral geometry. The ligands are orientated in two perpendicular planes, with the O- and S-donor atoms incispositions and the N-donor atoms intranspositions. The complex displays intermolecular N—H...O and N—H...Br hydrogen bonds, creatingR44(18) rings, which link the FeIIIunits in theaandbdirections. The FeIIIcation is in the low-spin state at 293 K.

In the title complex, [Ni3(C9H3O6)(C9H23N3)3(H2O)3](ClO4)3·4.25H2O, the three NiII centres are bridged by a benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate(3−) anion (btc). Each of the metal centres is coordinated by three N atoms of a tridentate N,N,N′,N′′,N′′-pentamethyldiethylenetriamine ligand (pmdien), two O atoms of the btc ligand and one water molecule in a distorted octahedral geometry. The secondary structure is stabilized by a variety of O—H...O hydrogen bonds and C—H...O interactions that serve to connect the complex cations, perchlorate anions and water solvent molecules. Variability of intermolecular contacts stabilizing the crystal structure leads to disorder of part of O atoms of two perchlorate anions between two positions with occupancies 0.632 (5) and 0.337 (7).
