The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cd2(C12H10N2)3(C6H12NOS2)4]·4C2H3N, comprises a CdIIatom, two dithiocarbamate (dtc) anions, one and a halftrans-1,2-dipyridin-4-ylethylene (bpe) molecules and two acetonitrile solvent molecules. The full binuclear complex is generated by the application of a centre of inversion. The dtc ligands are chelating, one bpe molecule coordinates in a monodentate mode while the other is bidentate bridging. The resultingcis-N2S4coordination geometry is based on an octahedron. Supramolecular layers, sustained by hydroxy-O—H...O(hydroxy) and hydroxy-O—H...N(bpe) hydrogen bonding, interpenetrate to form a three-dimensional architecture; voids in this arrangement are occupied by the acetonitrile solvent molecules. Additional intermolecular interactions falling within the specified framework have been analysed by Hirshfeld surface analysis, including π–π interactions.

In the title compound, [Zn(C4H8NOS2)2(C12H10N4)], the ZnIIatom exists within a NS4donor set defined by two chelating dithiocarbamate ligands and a pyridyl-Natom derived from a terminally bound 4-pyridinealdazine ligand. The distorted coordination geometry tends towards square-pyramidal with the pyridyl-N atom occupying the apical position. In the crystal, hydroxyl-O—H...O(hydroxyl) and hydroxyl-O—H...N(pyridyl) hydrogen-bonding give rise to a supramolecular double-chain along [1-10]; methyl-C—H...π(chelate ring) interactions help to consolidate the chain. The chains are connected into a three-dimensional architectureviapyridyl-C—H...O(hydroxyl) interactions. In addition to the contacts mentioned above, the Hirshfeld surface analysis points to the significance of relatively weak π–π interactions between pyridyl rings [inter-centroid distance = 3.901 (3) Å].

The SnIVatom in the title diorganotin compound, [Sn(C7H6F)2Cl2(C2H6OS)2], is located on a centre of inversion, resulting in the C2Cl2O2donor set having an all-transdisposition of like atoms. The coordination geometry approximates an octahedron. The crystal features C—H...F, C—H...Cl and C—H...π interactions, giving rise to a three-dimensional network. The respective influences of the Cl...H/H...Cl and F...H/H...F contacts to the molecular packing are clearly evident from the analysis of the Hirshfeld surface.

The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Cd(C10H11O2)2(C6H6N2O)2(H2O)], contains one half of the complex molecule, with the CdII cation and the coordinated water O atom residing on a twofold rotation axis. The CdII cation is coordinated in a bidentate manner to the carboxylate O atoms of the two symmetry-related 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoate (TMB) anions and to the water O atom at distances of 2.297 (2), 2.527 (2) and 2.306 (3) Å to form a distorted pentagonal arrangement, while the distorted pentagonal–bipyramidal coordination sphere is completed by the two pyridine N atoms of the two symmetry-related monodentate nicotinamide (NA) ligands at distances of 2.371 (3) Å in the axial positions. In the crystal, molecules are linked via intermolecular N—H...O, O—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen bonds with R 2 2(12), R 3 3(8), R 3 3(14), R 3 3(16), R 3 3(20), R 3 3(22), R 4 4(22), R 5 5(16), R 6 6(16) and R 6 6(18) ring motifs, forming a three-dimensional architecture. The Hirshfeld surface analysis of the crystal structure indicates that the most important contributions for the crystal packing are H...H (56.9%), H...C/C...H (21.3%) and H...O/O...H (19.0%) interactions.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C5H7N2O+·C4H4NO4S−, contains one cation and one anion. The 6-methyl-2,2,4-trioxo-2H,4H-1,2,3-oxathiazin-3-ide anion adopts an envelope conformation with the S atom as the flap. In the crystal, the anions and cations are held together by N—H...O, N—H...N, O—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen bonds, thus forming a three-dimensional structure. The Hirshfeld surface analysis and fingerprint plots reveal that the crystal packing is dominated by O...H/H...O (43.1%) and H...H (24.2%) contacts.

Two crystallographically independent molecules (A and B) are present in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C11H9IN2OS, which differ mainly in the dihedral angle between the phenyl and thiazole rings [38.94 (16) and 32.12 (15)°, respectively]. In the crystal, the molecules form ...A...B...A...B... chains along the [001] and [010] directions through moderate N—H...O hydrogen bonds and C—H...π interactions, respectively. The overall three-dimensional network is formed by I...I and I...S interactions. Hirshfeld surface analysis indicates that the most important contributions to the crystal packing are from H...C/C...H (26.2%), H...H (20.9%), H...I/I...H (19.4%) and H...O/O...H (6.8%) interactions.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C16H13N3OS, comprises two molecules (A and B) with similar conformations that differ mainly in the orientation of the phenyl group relative to the rest of the molecule, as expressed by the Cthioamide—Nthioamide—Cphenyl—Cphenyl torsion angle of 49.3 (3)° for molecule A and of 5.4 (3)° for molecule B. In the crystal, two intermolecular N—H...N hydrogen bonds lead to the formation of a dimer with R 2 2(10) graph-set notation. A Hirshfeld surface analysis revealed that H...H interactions are the most important intermolecular interactions, contributing 40.9% to the Hirshfeld surface.

An unexpected trinuclear Co(II) complex, [Co3(L2)2(μ-OAc)2(CH3OH)2]·2CH3OH (H2L2 = 4,4′-dibromo-2,2′-[ethylenedioxybis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol) constructed from a half-Salamo-based ligand (HL1 = 2-[O-(1-ethyloxyamide)]oxime-4-bromophenol) and Co(OAc)2·4H2O, has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, infrared spectra (IR), UV-Vis spectra, X-ray crystallography and Hirshfeld surface analysis. The Co(II) complex contains three Co(II) atoms, two completely deprotonated (L2)2− units, two bridged acetate molecules, two coordinated methanol molecules and two crystalline methanol molecules, and finally, a three-dimensional supramolecular structure with infinite extension was formed. Interestingly, during the formation of the Co(II) complex, the ligand changed from half-Salamo-like to a symmetrical single Salamo-like ligand due to the bonding interactions of the molecules. In addition, the antimicrobial activities of HL1 and its Co(II) complex were also investigated.

The title dithiocarbazate ester (I), C18H18N2S2[systematic name: (E)-4-methylbenzyl 2-[(E)-3-phenylallylidene]hydrazinecarbodithioate, comprises an almost planar central CN2S2residue [r.m.s. deviation = 0.0131 Å]. The methylene(tolyl-4) group forms a dihedral angle of 72.25 (4)° with the best plane through the remaining non-hydrogen atoms [r.m.s. deviation = 0.0586 Å] so the molecule approximates mirror symmetry with the 4-tolyl group bisected by the plane. The configuration about both double bonds in the N—N=C—C=C chain isE; the chain has an alltransconformation. In the crystal, eight-membered centrosymmetric thioamide synthons, {...HNCS}2, are formedviaN—H...S(thione) hydrogen bonds. Connections between the dimersviaC—H...π interactions lead to a three-dimensional architecture. A Hirshfeld surface analysis shows that (I) possesses an interaction profile similar to that of a closely related analogue with anS-bound benzyl substituent, (II). Computational chemistry indicates the dimeric species of (II) connectedviaN—H...S hydrogen bonds is about 0.94 kcal mol−1more stable than that in (I).

Three new proton transfer compounds, [2-ammonio-5-methylcarboxybenzene perchlorate (1), (C8H10NO2+·ClO4−), 4-(ammoniomethyl)carboxybenzene nitrate (2), (C8H10NO2+·NO3−), and 4-(ammoniomethyl)carboxybenzene perchlorate (3), (C8H10NO2+·ClO4−)], have been synthesized, their IR modes of vibrations have been assigned and their crystal structures studied by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Their asymmetric units consist of one cation and one anion for both compounds (1) and (2). However, the crystal structure of compound (3) is based on a pair of cations and a pair of anions in its asymmetric unit. The three-dimensional Hirshfeld surface analysis and the two-dimensional fingerprint maps revealed that the three structures are dominated by H...O/O...H and H...H contacts. The strongest hydrogen-bonding interactions are associated with O—H...O and N—H...O constituting the highest fraction of approximately 50%, followed by those of the H...H type contributing 20%. Other close contacts are also present, including weak C...H/H...C contacts (with about 10%).
