The purpose of this study was to create an annotated bibliography about Leonese wrestling. The first author's library was the starting point and then the catalogs of the National Library of Spain, Public Libraries of Spain, Spanish University Libraries Network, as well as the Spanish ISBN Agency Database of books published in Spain were consulted by using the keywords “lucha leonesa” and “aluche”. The annotated bibliography comprises a total of 19 monographs, published between 1977 and 2015. As a whole, they show the eminently local dimension of this traditional sport, the support it has received from several public and private institutions, as well as its double dimension as a sport and as a tradition solidly rooted in Leonese culture.

Purpose – This paper aims to provide an overview of reference sources in the discipline of disability studies to aid academic and larger public libraries in their collection building efforts. Each discussed source is annotated, offering information on the title’s model for viewing disability, scope, structure and audience. Design/methodology/approach – Reference titles in disability studies were located through searches in WorldCat, then evaluated, selected and carefully annotated. Resources included in this annotated bibliography are those that move beyond the medical model of disability, exploring disability rather as a social construct. Also, works with interdisciplinary focus were preferred during selection. Findings – There is a variety of recently published reference resources in disability studies, including companions, encyclopedias, handbooks and series, that would potentially represent good additions to collections in academic and public libraries. Seven of these are annotated in this study. Originality/value – Post-medical disability studies target a broad range of audiences: sociologists, arts and humanities scholars, activists, people with disabilities, individuals without disabilities and medical practitioners and caretakers. Given this broad audience appeal, it can be argued that any academic library or large public library will benefit from setting up or updating its collections on this relatively new discipline of study. The resources annotated in this study assist interested libraries in this endeavor.

United Nations agencies and civil society organisations (CSOs) are working as development partners (DPs) with parliaments across the globe. They are engaged in activities to strengthen parliaments in both developed and developing countries. Data from a study that evaluated the performance of Zimbabwe’s Parliamentary Constituency Information Centres (PCICs) showed that DPs play important roles in disseminating parliamentary information to constituents. This article analyses the contributions by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP), and the challenges they face in Zimbabwe.

An annotated bibliography of academic works in the field of Bulgarian studies published in Poland between 1947 and 2012The bibliography of Bulgarian studies includes publications by Polish and foreign authors published in Poland in the period 1947–2012. The main language of the works cited in the bibliography is Polish, a small portion (approx. 5%) is written in Bulgarian. The following bibliography is of a subject selective nature. It takes into account monographs – excluding continuous publications the inclusion of which would involve the planning of work over several years at least. The scope of the bibliography is limited to scientific publications which include studies on Bulgarian literature, Bulgarian cultural studies and research on Bulgarian history and society. Bibliografia adnotowana naukowych prac bułgarystycznych wydanych w Polsce w latach 1947–2012Bibliografia bułgarystyczna obejmuje publikacje autorów polskich i zagranicznych, wydane na terenie Polski w latach 1947–2012.
