There are many various patterns for electricity market. Different countries adopt different patterns according to their own characteristics. However, no matter what pattern they adopt, there must be a certain structure similar to long-term market and real-time market where power sellers usually make electricity transaction. From the view of electricity power sellers, it is the key for hydropower enterprise (Power seller) to find an optimal sale strategy which can maximize the amount of electricity sale while minimizing the probability of risk. In this paper, on the base of analysis on the deterministic gross generation, a mathematic model is established to gain the maximal income of electricity sale in the case of considering risk factors, and to investigate the relationship between risk factors and electricity sale distribution in the two markets, long-term market and real-time market. Then, subsequently, the optimal strategy of electricity sale distribution of gross generation will be obtained in every market in order to maximize the total expected benefit. The feasibility and validness of the Model are verified by its application to a case as well.

SummaryThe development of investigative strategies by decision analysis has been achieved by explicitly drawing the decision tree, either by hand or on computer. This paper discusses the feasibility of automatically generating and analysing decision trees from a description of the investigations and the treatment problem. The investigation of cholestatic jaundice is used to illustrate the technique. Methods to decrease the number of calculations required are presented. It is shown that this method makes practical the simultaneous study of at least half a dozen investigations. However, some new problems arise due to the possible complexity of the resulting optimal strategy. If protocol errors and delays due to testing are considered, simpler strategies become desirable. Generation and assessment of these simpler strategies are discussed with examples.

The paper examines a specific model of wage-setting evolved in Russia under transition. Using new survey data author reveals paradoxical characteristics of wage-setting mechanisms at Russian industrial enterprises: very high union and collective agreement coverage; nearly unilateral control of managers over wage determination; close correlation between earnings and enterprises' performance; voluntary utilization of wage standards established by the state. The special section explores effects of fulfilling a new provision stipulated for by the recently adopted Labor Code to raise minimum wage to the subsistence minimum level. The author concludes that wage-setting in the Russian labor market is at odds with a textbook competitive model and poorly fits into many other sophisticated theoretical schemes (such as labor-managed firms, bargaining models etc.).
