Water environment assessment is a basic and important work of water resources protection. We set up a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of water environment based on fuzzy theory and prediction method in this paper. The comprehensive assessment of water environmental quality relates to complicated phenomena and interaction of multi-factor of evaluation. There are plenty of fuzzy phenomena and fuzzy concepts, therefore, make quantitative processing by the comprehensive evaluation method of fuzzy is a good choice to get good results.

Diesel engine is a multi-disciplinary complex system with the harsh working environment and high reliability requirements. Its design for satisfying the basic reliability requirement is a high-demanding work. Correspondingly the reliability prediction is served as an important tool for reliability design. However, in the traditional reliability method, the analytical outcome obtained from the conventional FMECA was not always sufficient. This increases the workload of designers in charge of reliability, and reduces the working efficiency. Therefore, this paper conducts an in-depth research with the emphasis on the diesel engine’s reliability prediction, in which the failure mode and the information of criticality provided by FMECA will be made full use of to carry out the reliability prediction. Meanwhile, to make the prediction results more objective and reasonable, this paper introduces the weight of experts, and provides a prediction model, in which the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation are combined to analyze the criticality of FMECA.

This paper presents a postconstruction settlement prediction method for pile-soil composite subgrade based on the multilevel fuzzy comprehensive evaluation principle. In this method, the variation range of postconstruction settlement can be obtained from a simple calculation based on the basic data of actual engineering. Firstly, according to the characteristics of influencing factors in the construction of soft soil subgrade, the evaluation index set and two-level factor index sets were selected. The grading standards of the evaluation index and factor index were determined according to the allowable value of the standard and the numerical simulation results. Secondly, each factor index was standardized, and the normal distribution function in the form of exponential was used to construct the standard membership function for the first and second factor indexes. Finally, the comprehensive evaluation matrix of postconstruction settlement of composite subgrade was constructed based on the entropy weight method. The variation range of postconstruction settlement was predicted by the principle of maximum membership. The example analysis shows that the predicted results of the prediction method and the field measurement method are in good agreement, indicating that the proposed method can realize the postconstruction settlement prediction of composite subgrade, and the results are more accurate and more instructive.

This paper mainly studies the application of intelligent lighting control system in different sports events in large sports competition venues. We take the Xiantao Stadium, a large­scale sports competition venue in Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province as an example, to study its intelligent lighting control system. In this paper, the PID (proportion – integral – derivative) incremental control model and the Karatsuba multiplication model are used, and the intelligent lighting control system is designed and implemented by multi­level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model. Finally, the paper evaluates the actual effect of the intelligent lighting control system. The research shows that the intelligent lighting control system designed in this paper can accurately control the lighting of different sports in large stadiums. The research in this paper has important practical significance for the planning and design of large­scale sports competition venues.

This article provides an estimate of the human capital value of migration to Reading in the period 1851-1871 to the town's economy. This is determined by estimating total net migration to the town across this period by age and sex and assigning all migrants a value for expected lifetime economic output less expected lifetime consumption costs. The final figures are contextualised by comparison with the value of social overhead capital used to fund significant local infrastructure projects in the same time period and show that, from a human capital perspective, the value of migration to Reading was very significant. This article thus addresses significant historiographical gaps in the study of Victorian labour migration to southern provincial towns and provides an original perspective to studies of the economic value of migration and its role in the growth of such communities.
