Event-based systems are developed and used to integrate components in loosely coupled systems. Research and product development have focused so far on efficiency issues but neglected methodological support to build such systems. In this article, the modular design and implementation of an event system is presented which supports scopes and event mappings, two new and powerful structuring methods that facilitate engineering and coordination of components in event-based systems. We give a formal specification of scopes and event mappings within a trace-based formalism adapted from temporal logic. This is complemented by a comprehensive introduction to the event-based style, its benefits and requirements.

The development of computerized technology has transformed teaching and learning scenarios in the classroom. It has become essential learning tool to improve and enhance the quality of teaching and learning process. Thus, the quality of teaching and learning for religious classes Fardhu Ain (KAFA) should be upgraded too through computerised information visualization technology. This research aims to design a computerized information visualization for KAFA class especially for UPKK exams. Then, this courseware will be assessed through perceptions of students and teachers based on four aspects namely the design, ease of use, compatibility of information and satisfaction. This study was combines three methodologies, qualitative, quantitative and product development designs. While the study product development will use ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implement, Evaluation) approach which is for instructional technology in the production of educational products. The results indicated that students and teachers accept this courseware in the form of its design, ease of use, compatibility of information and satisfaction of use. Hence, advanced studies in context of the development of teaching and learning in KAFA class can still be explored in the future to ensure a better quality of KAFA education.

The ultimate objective of database analysis, design, and implementation is to establish an electronic repository that faithfully represents the conceptual and logical model of the manageable aspects of a user’s information domain. Enterprise and Web-enabled databases must satisfy a wide set of demands and constituents. Software engineering in general and database development in particular can be a complex, complicated process. There is probably no other product development process that faces the same amount of uncertainty, which may account for the high failure rate of software projects. This chapter expands on the growing body of literature in the area of data quality by proposing additions to a hierarchy of database quality dimensions that include model and behavioral factors in addition to the process and data factors.

Purpose To provide an overview of communication characteristics exhibited by individuals with Angelman Syndrome (AS) and special considerations associated with the design and implementation of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) programs. Method Results of recent studies exploring individuals' uses of AAC are reviewed, with particular emphasis on factors related to individuals' acceptance and successful uses of AAC systems. Results Not applicable Conclusion Despite their inconsistent access to practices previously found to foster individuals' acceptance of AAC systems, individuals with AS demonstrate the ability to use AAC systems, including high-tech AAC devices, successfully.
