The compressive behavior was investigated on an electrodeposited nanocrystalline Ni-20%Fe alloy with a grain size of about 22 nm at room temperature (RT), 298 K, and the liquid nitrogen temperature (LN2T), 77 K. The sensitivity of the yield strength and plastic strain to the test temperature at different grain sizes was discussed. Moreover, through the Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) examination and microhardness measurement, the microstructures before and after the compression test at RT and LN2T were studied.

The possibility of using fine recycled concrete aggregate as a substitute for natural sand are relatively limited. In order to promote it for engineering application, this paper reports the effect of elevated temperatures from room temperature to 600oC on the compressive behavior of mortars containing recycled fine concrete aggregate was investigated. It is found that no obvious relation between the color change and the recycled mortars replacement percentage.And the mass loss of recycled mortars is larger than that of normal mortars.The compressive strength of recycled mortars declines significantly as the temperature rises. The elastic modulus of recycled mortars decreased with the increase in temperature, and the decrease is much quicker than the decrease in compressive strength.

In this paper, effect of pre-deformation and ageing on compressive behavior of Ti-58.25wt%Ni was investigated at room temperature. Through range analysis of three factors and three levels on transformation temperature measured by DSC, ageing at 673K enhanced phase transformation temperature obviously, the As temperature could reach 308.02K. Transformations of B2-B19’ and B2-R-B19’ appeared after the treatments. Saw tooth shape phenomenon on the loading curves indicating the typical martensitic transformation was also observed. Dynamic balance due to compatible action among various phase under increased load kept the slope of the loading curves constantly. Pre-deformation by 0.2% resulted in higher compressibility (4.9%), and ageing at 523K caused better recovery (95.4%).

In this study, quasi-static and dynamic compression tests were performed on a ZrCuNiAl bulk metallic glass. The results demonstrated that the ZrCuNiAl bulk metallic glass changed from plastic deformation without strain rate effect to brittle fracture with negative strain rate sensitivity. The fracture surface morphology was related to the strain rate and temperature rise. The modified cooperative-shear model was determined to describe the effect of strain rate and temperature rise on the yield stress of ZrCuNiAl bulk metallic glass.
