Mike Buzzetti proposes an optical fiber polisher which is a link-type mechanism with double flats in 1999. Buzzetti’s optical fiber polisher produce 8-shaped grinding traces to polish the end face of optical fiber connector. The purpose of this paper is to design the optimal polishing traces of single-plate optical fiber polisher to avoid the patent of Buzzetti’s mechanism. First, a link-type single-plate optical fiber polisher, which is consist 7 links and 8 joints, is proposed. Then, analyze the polishing trace, velocity, and acceleration of Buzzetti’s mechanism and new mechanism. Finally, we take the curvature scope percentage (sp) and the velocity deviation percentage (Vdp) as the objective functions, and use global search to achieve optimized design so that the double- crank single-plate optical fiber polisher will produce the optimum polishing trace which is like the digit “8”. The results of this paper are: (1) The velocity deviation percentage of double-crank single-flat optical fiber polisher (Vdp= 61.8241%) is lower then the original mechanism (Vdp= 76.8652%). And, (2) The maximum acceleration of double-crank single-flat optical fiber polisher (amax = 1231 cm/s2) is lower then the original mechanism (amax= 2323.0 cm/sec2). The result indicates that the polishing effect of the double-crank single-flat optical fiber polisher is better then original mechanism.

SummaryA study was carried out in order to evaluate the Astrup and Mullertz fibrin plate method for estimating plasminogen activators.Choice of a suitable fibrinogen substrate was found to be the most important factor in setting up a workable assay. Many preparations contained a large proportion of non-clottable protein and plates made from these fibrinogens were usually unreliable. In addition, plasminogen content varied appreciably between preparations so that sensitivity of the method required careful calibration with each new batch of fibrinogen. The effect of additives in the fibrin plate was considered and it was found that calcium chloride alone was sufficient to ensure a stabilised plate which could be stored at 4° C for some time. The addition of tranexamic acid (AMCHA) was found to be a slightly more convenient way of estimating direct proteolytic activity, compared with the traditional heated plate. However neither method distinguished completely between proteolysis and plasminogen activation. In order to improve the precision of the method, the use of an analysis of variance technique has been studied. This technique provides information on the dose-response curves of test and unknown substances, and in addition produces an approximately threefold increase in precision over single plate tests.

Deep blue organic-emitting fluorophores are crucial for application in white lighting and full color flat-panel displays but emitters with high color quality and efficiency are rare. Herein, novel deep blue AIE luminogens (AIEgens) with various donor units and an acceptor of cyano substituted tetraphenylbenzene (TPB) cores were developed and used to fabricate non-doped deep blue and hybrid white organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Benefiting from its high emission efficiency and high proportion of horizontally oriented dipoles in the film state, the non-doped deep blue device based on CN-TPB-TPA realized a maximum external quantum efficiency 7.27%, with a low efficiency roll-off and CIE coordinates of (0.15, 0.08). Moreover, efficient two-color hybrid warm white OLEDs (CIEx,y = 0.43, 0.45) were achieved using CN-TPB-TPA as the blue-emitting layer and phosphor doped host, which realized maximum current, power, external quantum efficiencies 58.0 cd A-1, 60.7 lm W-1 and 19.1%, respectively. This work provides a general strategy to achieve high performance, stable deep blue and hybrid white OLEDs by construction of AIEgens with excellent horizontal orientation

Beach nourishment has been widely used for beach protection around the world. However, there is limited information about beach nourishment in China. This study offers an overview of beach nourishment practices, status and technological advances in China, based on the literature, reports, and personal communications. The results demonstrate that beach nourishment has been recognized as an effective and environmentally friendly measure to combat coastal erosion and has been increasingly adopted in China, especially in the past decade. The unique characteristics of coastal China resulted in a difference in beach nourishment between China and Western developed countries in terms of the types, objectives, and shapes of beach nourishment. For the types of nourishments in China, there were approximately the same number of restored beaches and newly constructed beaches. For fill sediment, homogeneous fill and heterogeneous fill comprised 51.1% and 48.9% of projects, respectively. The objective of beach nourishment was mainly to promote coastal tourism, and the shape of nourished beaches was dominated by headland bays. This study also indicated that China has achieved a number of technological advances in beach nourishment, including methods of beach nourishment on severely eroded coasts and muddy coasts, an optimized design of drain pipes involved in urban beaches, and ecological design considerations. From the past decade of practices, four aspects were proposed as considerations for future nourishment: sand sources, technique advances, ecological effects, and management of beach nourishments.
