A new species of the Neoperla diehli subgroup of the montivaga group, N. curvilobata sp. nov., is described from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of southern China. The first country records for N. diehli Sivec, 1985 and N. hubleyi Stark & Sivec, 2008 from China are given. Neoperla wui Yang & Yang, 1990 is reported again from the type locality. Neoperla mesostyla Li & Wang, 2013 (in Wang et al. 2013b) is placed as a synonym of N. wui. Illustrations and color images are provided for each species and the new species is compared with related congeners of the N. diehli subgroup. A provisional key to the known species of the N. diehli subgroup is also presented.

In this study, 24 non-marine ostracod species were found in 142 samples collected from diverse water bodies from Hainan Island, south China. Among them, a new species Pseudocypretta lineata n. sp. is described and illustrated. Twelve species are new records for China. Among them, six species are identified: Microdarwinula zimmeri (Menzel, 1916), Pseudocypretta lineata n. sp., Pseudostrandesia mamarilorum (Victor & Fernando, 1981c), Stenocypris malayica Victor & Fernando, 1981b, Stenocypris orientalis Victor & Fernando, 1981b and Strandesia freyi Victor & Fernando, 1981c. Six species are left in open nomenclature: Batucypretta sp., Candonopsis? sp., Cypridoidea gen. et sp. indet. 1, Cypridoidea gen. et sp. indet. 2, Cyprinotus cf. kimberleyensis McKenzie, 1966 and Vestalenula sp. Additionally, a re-description of Strandesia freyi is provided.

The first record of Cheilotheca from China is reported here with the description of a new species, C. crocea, from evergreen broadleaved forest in south-central Guangxi of southern China. The new species is morphologically most similar to C. malayana, but it can be easily distinguished from the latter by its equal length filaments and elongate anthers with 2-longitudinal slits at dehiscence (vs. unequal length filaments and short anthers with a single terminal slit). The detailed morphological characters together with illustrations, diagnostic comparisons and habitat are presented.
