ABSTRACT Rahel is a lytic Myoviridae bacteriophage that infects Mycobacterium smegmatis mc2155. It has 1,555,955 bp and 64.7% G+C content. Rahel has a circularly permuted genome with 270 genes, 53 of them of known function, 33 tRNAs, and 1 transfer-messenger RNA (tmRNA). Only five genes are coded on the reverse strand.

Mycobacteriophage Faze9 is a novel lytic phage that was isolated from soil collected in Scranton, PA, using the host Mycobacterium smegmatis mc2155. Faze9 has a double-stranded DNA genome composed of 67,503 kbp, has a G+C content of 68.9%, encodes 91 predicted proteins, and is closely related to mycobacteriophages in the B2 subcluster.

Mycobacteriophage SWU1 is a newly isolated phage from a soil sample collected at Gongping village, Pingchang County, Sichuan Province, China, usingMycobacterium smegmatismc2155 as a host. Plaques of SWU1 appear as a unique bull's-eye on anM. smegmatislawn. In this paper, we report the complete genome sequence of SWU1 and some major findings from the analysis result.

ABSTRACT Mycobacteriophage Fulbright was isolated from soil in central Oklahoma using Mycobacterium smegmatis mc2115. The genome of phage Fulbright is 42,396 bp long and contains 70 open reading frames (ORFs), with 33 having predicted functions and 37 having hypothetical proteins. It belongs to cluster N and shares 99% nucleotide identity with mycobacteriophage Phloss.

Malassezia restricta, one of the predominant basidiomycetous yeasts present on human skin, is involved in scalp disorders. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of the lipophilic Malassezia restricta CBS 7877 strain, which will facilitate the study of the mechanisms underlying its commensal and pathogenic roles within the skin microbiome.

The hydrogen-utilizing strain Cupriavidus necator H16 (DSM 428) was sequenced using a combination of PacBio and Illumina sequencing. Annotation of this strain reveals 6,543 protein-coding genes, 263 pseudogenes, 64 tRNA genes, and 15 rRNA genes.

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is an emerging opportunistic human pathogen. In this report, we describe the isolation and genomic annotation of the S. maltophilia-infecting bacteriophage Mendera. A myophage of 159,961 base pairs, Mendera is T4-like and related most closely to Stenotrophomonas phage IME-SM1.

ABSTRACT Mycobacterium chimaera is a nontuberculous mycobacterium species commonly found in the environment. Here, we report the first complete genome sequence of a strain from the investigation of invasive infections following open-heart surgeries that used contaminated LivaNova Sorin Stockert 3T heater-cooler devices.

ABSTRACT Here we report the complete genome sequence of Streptococcus agalactiae strain 874391. This serotype III isolate is a member of the hypervirulent sequence type 17 (ST-17) lineage that causes a disproportionate number of cases of invasive disease in humans and mammals. A brief historical context of the strain is discussed.

Bacillus subtilis WB800N is a genetically engineered variant of B. subtilis 168, such that all extracellular proteases are disrupted, which enables WB800N to be widely used for the expression of secretory proteins. Here, we report the 4.2-Mb complete genome sequence of WB800N and present all of the disrupted gene structure.
