A male patient in his 50s who traveled from Papua New Guinea (PNG) to Australia in 2016 was diagnosed with a dengue virus serotype 4 (DENV-4) infection, and the virus was isolated from his acute-phase serum. Here, we describe the first complete genome sequence of a DENV-4 strain from PNG.

It has been determined that recent dengue virus epidemics in Yunnan, China, originated from Southeast Asian strains. Here, we report the first complete genome sequence and molecular characterization of the imported dengue virus serotype 1 strain YNPE1.

Here, we report the complete genome sequence of a chikungunya virus coinfection strain isolated from a dengue virus serotype 2-infected patient in Malaysia. This coinfection strain was determined to be of the Asian genotype and contains a novel insertion in the nsP3 gene.

ABSTRACT Analysis of an RNA-Seq library from cucumber leaf RNA revealed the first complete genome sequence of Cucurbit aphid-borne yellows virus (CABYV) from Papua New Guinea. We compared it with 36 complete CABYV genomes from other world regions. It most resembled the genome of South Korean isolate GS6.

ABSTRACT While data are limited, there is increasing evidence that infections by dengue viruses are endemic in Haiti. In 2014, an outbreak caused by dengue virus 4 (DENV-4) followed a chikungunya fever outbreak. We present here the complete genome sequence of one isolate grouped within the genotype II South America and Caribbean DENV-4 clades.
