Sphaerotilus natans subsp. sulfidivorans D-507 is an environmental isolate from a sulfate spring in the northern Caucasus region of Russia. This heterotrophic bacterium is involved in the oxidation of reduced sulfur derivatives. This report includes the finished genome of this strain. In addition, we provide methylation data and the associated enzymes predicted to be responsible for each modified motif.

We report here the complete genome sequence of a lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV) isolate obtained in the Northern Caucasus region of Russia in 2015. The LSDV/Russia/Dagestan/2015 genome sequence grouped with field LSDV isolates found in Serbia and Greece, suggesting the monophyletic origin of LSDV isolates that recently affected countries in the Northern Hemisphere.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the complete closed genome sequence and methylome analysis of Beggiatoa leptomitoformis strain D-401 (DSM 14945, UNIQEMU 779), which is quite different from the previously described Beggiatoa leptomitoformis neotype strain D-402 T (DSM 14946, UNIQEM U 779) with regard to morphology and lithotrophic growth in the presence of thiosulfate.

The genome of a symbiotically effective salt-tolerant strain, Sinorhizobium meliloti S35m, isolated from alfalfa rhizosphere in soil native to the Caucasian region, was sequenced. Genomic islands, prophages, and elements of a potential CRISPR/Cas I type (Cas3_0_I) system were identified in the genome.

Malassezia restricta, one of the predominant basidiomycetous yeasts present on human skin, is involved in scalp disorders. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of the lipophilic Malassezia restricta CBS 7877 strain, which will facilitate the study of the mechanisms underlying its commensal and pathogenic roles within the skin microbiome.

The hydrogen-utilizing strain Cupriavidus necator H16 (DSM 428) was sequenced using a combination of PacBio and Illumina sequencing. Annotation of this strain reveals 6,543 protein-coding genes, 263 pseudogenes, 64 tRNA genes, and 15 rRNA genes.

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is an emerging opportunistic human pathogen. In this report, we describe the isolation and genomic annotation of the S. maltophilia-infecting bacteriophage Mendera. A myophage of 159,961 base pairs, Mendera is T4-like and related most closely to Stenotrophomonas phage IME-SM1.

ABSTRACT Mycobacterium chimaera is a nontuberculous mycobacterium species commonly found in the environment. Here, we report the first complete genome sequence of a strain from the investigation of invasive infections following open-heart surgeries that used contaminated LivaNova Sorin Stockert 3T heater-cooler devices.

ABSTRACT Here we report the complete genome sequence of Streptococcus agalactiae strain 874391. This serotype III isolate is a member of the hypervirulent sequence type 17 (ST-17) lineage that causes a disproportionate number of cases of invasive disease in humans and mammals. A brief historical context of the strain is discussed.
