Rhodopseudomonas species are purple nonsulfur bacteria found in many environments and known for their diverse metabolic capabilities. Here, we report the genome sequence of Rhodopseudomonas rutila type strain R1 and a whole-genome nucleotide comparison of related Rhodopseudomonas palustris species, suggesting the necessity for future reevaluation of the Rhodopseudomonas species differentiation.

Rhodopseudomonas palustris is known for its versatile metabolic capabilities and has been proposed for a wide range of innovative applications. Here, we report the genome sequence of strain XCP, as well as a whole-genome nucleotide comparison of R. palustris strains, which indicates the need for further differentiation of the known strains.

Arcobacter skirrowii is a species of veterinary importance, originally recovered from the feces, aborted fetuses, and preputial fluids of livestock. We present here the whole-genome sequence of the A. skirrowii type strain LMG 6621 (= 449/80T = CCUG 10374T), isolated in the United Kingdom from a lamb diarrheal fecal sample.

Paracoccus spp. are metabolically versatile alphaproteobacteria able to perform heterotrophic and chemoautotrophic growth. This study describes the whole-genome sequence of the Paracoccus pantotrophus type strain DSM 2944 (ATCC 35512, LMD 82.5, GB17). The genome sequence revealed the presence of a complete phaZ phaC phaP phaR gene cluster related to polyhydroxyalkanoate metabolism.

ABSTRACT Campylobacter helveticus has been isolated from domestic dogs and cats. Although C. helveticus is closely related to the emerging human pathogen C. upsaliensis, no C. helveticus-associated cases of human illness have been reported. This study describes the whole-genome sequence of the C. helveticus type strain ATCC 51209 (=CCUG 30682T).

Arcobacter canalis was originally recovered from shellfish and from a sewage-contaminated canal. Arcobacter canalis is closely related to the marine bacterium Arcobacter marinus. This study describes the complete whole-genome sequence of the A. canalis type strain LMG 29148 (=F138-33T; =CECT 8984T), which was recovered from oysters.

This work reports the complete genome sequence of a chemoautotrophic ammonia-oxidizing bacterium, Nitrosomonas stercoris strain KYUHI-ST (= ATCC BAA-2718T and NBRC 110753T). The assembled genome is composed of a circular chromosome and a large plasmid.

Whole-genome sequencing of Mycoplasma mucosicanis type strain 1642 was performed to support efforts to better understand the clinical significance of Mycoplasma infection in canine health. The availability of this sequence will also further the development of highly specific diagnostic tests.

ABSTRACT Campylobacter cuniculorum is a thermotolerant species isolated from farmed rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus). Although C. cuniculorum is highly prevalent in rabbits farmed for human consumption, the pathogenicity of this organism in humans is still unknown. This study describes the whole-genome sequence of the C. cuniculorum type strain LMG 24588 (=CCUG 56289T).

ABSTRACT Rhizobium tibeticum was originally isolated from root nodules of Trigonella archiducis-nicolai grown in Tibet, China. This species is also able to nodulate Medicago sativa and Phaseolus vulgaris. The whole-genome sequence of the type strain, R. tibeticum CCBAU85039T, is reported in this study.
