AbstractNew cercariae similar to those of Paracoenogonimus (Cyathocotylidae, Prohemistomatinae), have been found in gastropods Amuropaludina and Cipangopaludina from reservoirs of the Primorsky Region (southern Far East of Russia). Two species of freshwater fishes (Pseudorasbora parva and Perccottus glenii) were experimentally-infected second intermediate hosts. Adults reared in chicken, Gallus gallus dom. They belong to a new species, Paracoenogonimus ussuriensis sp. n. They differ from those of P. szidati (Anderson, 1914) and Mesostephanus appendiculatus (Ciurea, 1916) (=P. skworzowi (Petrov, 1950) sensu Sudarikov 1961) by the size of the body, pharynx and ovary and, further, from the latter by the size of the suckers and testes. Adults differ from P. ovatus Katsurada, 1914 by the smaller dimensions of the oral sucker, pharynx and testes, and also by the absence of anterior interval between vitelline follicles.

An analysis of the mtCOI sequences in the species from the genus Ypsolopha Latreille, 1796 made it possible to confirm a new species for science, Y. occultatella sp. n., morphologically similar to the East Asian species Y. yasudai Moriuti, 1964. The genetic distance between the mtCOI sequences in Y. occultatella sp. n. and Y. yasudai is 0,066–0,069 (6,6–6,9 %). However, the minimal genetic distance, 0,038–0,042 (3,8–4,2 %), was determined between the mtCOI sequences of the new species and Y. blandella (Christoph, 1882), while these species differ well in the forewing pattern.

A new crane fly species from the genus Phantolabis Alexander, 1956, active in the cold season and previously known by a single, eastern Nearctic species, is described from Primorsky Krai of the Russian Far East. A revised definition of the genus is given.

Nemoura sirotskii sp. n. (Plecoptera, Nemouridae) is described as a new stonefly species from the tributary streams of Zeya Reservoir (Amur River Basin) in the south of the Russian Far East. Detailed descriptions and illustrations are provided for the larvae and adult specimens. The diagnostic characters distinguishing it from sympatric species N. arctica are discussed.

A New Species

A new species, Baetis pentaphyllus sp. nov., is described on the basis of larvae from the Far East of Russia (type locality Bolshoi Garmakan River). Larvae of Baetis pentaphyllus sp. nov. may be distinguished from other Baetis species by the presence of only five pairs of tergalii on segments III–VII. The mitochondrial COI sequence obtained from the described species was compared with the data present in GeneBank and BOLD. The DNA barcodes allowed discrimination of B. pentaphyllus sp. nov. from other species of Baetis with available sequence data. The average interspecific K2P distances were 10–15%, which are values well above those associated with intraspecific variation. COI sequences as well as 36 morphological larval characters were analysed using Bayesian inference to relate the described species to the recognized species-groups of the Baetis genus. B. pentaphyllus sp. nov formed a sister clade to B. vardarensis + B. lutheri which belong to the Baetis lutheri species-group.
