Precise Traverse in Major Geodetic Networks
Investigation of a precise traverse network is presented on the basis of computer simulation of observations. Various aspects affecting the accuracy of final adjusted coordinates are considered, such as the density of Laplace control, the weighting of the various types of observations and the sensitivity of the system to weights. The simulation approach permits the evaluation of results through comparison of adjusted values to an artificially created “errorless” standard. The advantages of a modern precise traverse are considered with a view to its extensive utilization in major geodetic networks.
