AbstractWe use the results of CMS and ATLAS searches for resonances that decay to $$\tau \nu $$ τ ν or tb and $$\tau ^+\tau ^-$$ τ + τ - or $$t{\bar{t}}$$ t t ¯ final states to constrain the parameters of non-universal $$W^\prime $$ W ′ and $$Z^\prime $$ Z ′ gauge bosons that couple preferentially to the third generation. For the former we consider production from $$c\bar{b}$$ c b ¯ annihilation and find very weak constraints on the strength of the interaction and only for the mass range between 800 and 1100 GeV from the $$pp \rightarrow \tau _h p_T^{\mathrm{miss}}$$ p p → τ h p T miss channel. The constraints on the latter are much stronger and arise from both $$t{\bar{t}}$$ t t ¯ and $$\tau ^+\tau ^-$$ τ + τ - production. Treated separately, we find that the weak constraints on the $$W^\prime $$ W ′ still permit an explanation of the $$R(D^{(\star )})$$ R ( D ( ⋆ ) ) anomalies with a light sterile neutrino whereas the stronger constraints on the $$Z^\prime $$ Z ′ exclude significant light sterile neutrino contributions to the $$K \rightarrow \pi \nu \bar{\nu }$$ K → π ν ν ¯ rates. Within specific models the masses of $$W^\prime $$ W ′ and $$Z^\prime $$ Z ′ are of course related and we briefly discuss the consequences.

The paradigmatic antagonistic relationship between the Nigerian poet and the despot in his guise as a military ruler has often been examined in terms of a hegemonic contestation of power between unequal rivals. The military state’s typical response to the poet’s “truth” with the display of excessive might, often involving the emblematic battering of the poet’s tongue by the imposition of silence even in its eternal form of death, entrenches the notion of a powerful antagonist pitted against a weak opponent who nonetheless incarnates the spirit of the masses. A close reading of anti-military Nigerian poetry, however, underscores that the situation was replete with paradoxes: the inability of power to ignore apparent powerlessness; the ultimate triumph of powerlessness over power; and the fascinating replication in the counter-discourse of the (discursive) strategies of the dominant hegemony it battles against. This study highlights these trends in contemporary Nigerian poetry inspired by military despotism by paying particular attention to the work of the “third generation” of Nigerian poets.

This work is devoted for gauge boson sector of the recentlyproposed model based on \(\mathrm{SU}(3)_C\otimes \mathrm{SU}(3)_L\otimes \mathrm{U}(1)_X\) group with minimal content of leptons andHiggses. The limits on the masses of the bilepton gauge bosons andon the mixing angle among the neutral ones are deduced. Using theFritzsch anzats on quark mixing, we show that the third family ofquarks should  be different from the first two. We obtain a lowerbound on mass of the new heavy neutral gauge boson as 4.032 TeV.Using data on branching decay rates of the \(Z\) boson, we  can fix the limit to the \(Z\) and $Z^\prime$ mixing angle\(\phi\) as \(-0.001\le\phi\le 0.0003\).

The objectives of this qualitative research were (1) to identify the factors that affect the Minangkabau language (ML) maintenance in Medan, (2) to discover the parents’ efforts in maintaining ML in Medan and (3) to find out the reason why the speakers have to maintain ML. The souree of data is the nembers of the Association of Sei Jaring Community (Ikatan Warga Sei Jaring: IWS) in Medan. The sample was 10 families including 10 parents and their children. The instruments of this study are a questionnaire and an interview. The questionnaire was used to answer the factors affected the maintenance of ML and how factors affected the maintenance of ML. The interview was used to discover the influence why Minangkabau’s people have to maintain ML. There are four factors in ML maintenance, the parents’ role, the role of family, the intramarriage and homeland visits. After distributing questionnaire and did some interviews it is found that IWS especially for the third generation (children) has the danger level in ML when they communicate to each other. Meanwhile, the data analysis also shows that both fathers and mothers communicate to each other with ML. This condition occurred because of the influence of the environment. Parents have to keep communication and teaching Minangkabau language continuously to their children. so, the young generation can keep the existence of ML for their future. Keywords: Minangkabau Language Maintenance, parents’ efforts, the young generation.
