Intriguing hints of possible observation of charmless baryonic modes of B decays have prompted us to make theoretical estimates of two and three body decay modes involving baryons in the final state. Bounds on the Kobayashi-Maskawa parameter Vub can then be obtained.

We study the charmful three-body baryonic B decays with D(*) or J/Ψ in the final state. We explain the measured rates of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text]. In particular, the branching fraction of [Formula: see text] predicted to be of order 2.3 × 10-6 is in accordance with the Belle measurement, [Formula: see text].

We discuss the low-mass enhancement effect in the baryon–antibaryon invariant mass in three-body baryonic B decays using final state interactions in the framework of Regge theory. We show that the rescattering between baryonic pair can reproduce the observed mass spectrum.

The status of exclusive two-body and three-body baryonic B decays is reviewed. The threshold enhancement effect in the dibaryon invariant mass and the angular distributions in the dibaryon rest frame are stressed and explained. Weak radiative baryonic B decays mediated by the electromagnetic penguin process b→sγ are discussed. Puzzles with the correlation observed in [Formula: see text] decay and the unexpectedly large rate observed for [Formula: see text] are examined. The former may indicate that the [Formula: see text] system is produced through some intermediate states, while the latter implies the failure of naive factorization for [Formula: see text] modes and may hint at the importance of final-state rescattering effects.

In this paper, we investigate the three-body decays of [Formula: see text] meson to [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] final state mesons, using a simple model based on the framework of the factorization approach. As we know, there are tree and emission-annihilation diagrams for these decay modes in the factorization approach. We calculate the total [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] branching ratios, including the nonresonant and resonances contributions, and in view of the [Formula: see text] mixing, by applying the Dalitz plot analysis and obtain [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], while the experimental values are [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], respectively. The branching ratios obtained in our model are partly compatible with the experimental results.
