Calabi–Yau properties of nontrivial Noetherian DG down-up algebras

In this paper, we introduce and study differential graded (DG) down–up algebras. In brief, a DG down–up algebra [Formula: see text] is a connected cochain DG algebra such that its underlying graded algebra [Formula: see text] is a graded down–up algebra. We describe all possible differential structures on Noetherian DG down–up algebras. For those Noetherian DG down-up algebras with nonzero differential, we compute their DG automorphism groups; study their isomorphism problems; and show that they are all Calabi–Yau DG algebras.

Abstract Kadeishvili's proof of theminimality theorem [T. Kadeishvili, On the homology theory of fiber spaces, Russ. Math. Surv. 35:3 (1980), 231–238] induces an algorithm for the inductive computation of an A ∞-algebra structure on the homology of a dg-algebra. In this paper, we prove that for one class of dg-algebras, the resulting computation will generate a complete A ∞-algebra structure after a finite amount of computational work.

Let $a_1,\ldots,a_n$ be distinct, positive integers with $(a_1,\ldots,a_n)=1$, and let k be an arbitrary field. Let $H(a_1,\ldots,a_n;z)$ denote the Hilbert series of the graded algebra k$[t^{a_1},t^{a_2},\ldots,t^{a_n}]$. We show that, when $n=3$, this rational function has a simple expression in terms of $a_1,a_2,a_3$; in particular, the numerator has at most six terms. By way of contrast, it is known that no such expression exists for any $n\geq4$.

AbstractThe algebra of so-called shifted symmetric functions on partitions has the property that for all elements a certain generating series, called the q-bracket, is a quasimodular form. More generally, if a graded algebra A of functions on partitions has the property that the q-bracket of every element is a quasimodular form of the same weight, we call A a quasimodular algebra. We introduce a new quasimodular algebra $$\mathcal {T}$$ T consisting of symmetric polynomials in the part sizes and multiplicities.

Abstract This is a general study of twisted Calabi–Yau algebras that are $\mathbb {N}$ -graded and locally finite-dimensional, with the following major results. We prove that a locally finite graded algebra is twisted Calabi–Yau if and only if it is separable modulo its graded radical and satisfies one of several suitable generalizations of the Artin–Schelter regularity property, adapted from the work of Martinez-Villa as well as Minamoto and Mori. We characterize twisted Calabi–Yau algebras of dimension 0 as separable k-algebras, and we similarly characterize graded twisted Calabi–Yau algebras of dimension 1 as tensor algebras of certain invertible bimodules over separable algebras. Finally, we prove that a graded twisted Calabi–Yau algebra of dimension 2 is noetherian if and only if it has finite GK dimension.

AbstractWe provide some necessary and some sufficient conditions for the automorphism group of a free product of (freely indecomposable, not infinite cyclic) groups to have Property (FA). The additional sufficient conditions are all met by finite groups, and so this case is fully characterised. Therefore, this paper generalises the work of N. Leder [Serre’s Property FA for automorphism groups of free products, preprint (2018), https://arxiv.org/abs/1810.06287v1]. for finite cyclic groups, as well as resolving the open case of that paper.
