Abstract We review recent progress relating to the extreme value statistics of the characteristic polynomials of random matrices associated with the classical compact groups, and of the Riemann zeta-function and other L-functions, in the context of the general theory of logarithmically-correlated Gaussian fields. In particular, we focus on developments related to the conjectures of Fyodorov and Keating concerning the extreme value statistics, moments of moments, connections to Gaussian multiplicative chaos, and explicit formulae derived from the theory of symmetric functions.

We investigate Lipschitz symmetric functions on a Banach space $X$ with a symmetric basis. We consider power symmetric polynomials on $\ell_1$ and show that they are Lipschitz on the unbounded subset consisting of vectors $x\in \ell_1$ such that $|x_n|\le 1.$ Using functions $\max$ and $\min$ and tropical polynomials of several variables, we constructed a large family of Lipschitz symmetric functions on the Banach space $c_0$ which can be described as a semiring of compositions of tropical polynomials over $c_0$.

Refining and reversing weighted arithmetic-geometric mean inequalities have been studied in many papers. In this paper, we provide some bounds for the differences between the weighted arithmetic and geometric means , using known inequalities. We improve the results given by Furuichi-Ghaemi-Gharakhanlu and Sababheh-Choi. We also give some bounds on entropies, applying the results in a different approach. In Section 4, we explore certain convex or concave functions, which are symmetric functions on the axis t=1/2.

We discuss connection between the XX0 Heisenberg spin chain and some aspects of enumerative combinatorics. The representation of the Bethe wave functions via the Schur functions allows to apply the theory of symmetric functions to the calculation of the correlation functions. We provide a combinatorial derivation of the dynamical auto-correlation functions and visualise them in terms of nests of self-avoiding lattice paths. Asymptotics of the auto-correlation functions are obtained in the double scaling limit provided that the evolution parameter is large.

This paper is devoted to studying approximations of symmetric continuous functions by symmetric analytic functions on a Banach space X with a symmetric basis. We obtain some positive results for the case when X admits a separating polynomial using a symmetrization operator. However, even in this case, there is a counter-example because the symmetrization operator is well defined only on a narrow, proper subspace of the space of analytic functions on X. For X=c0, we introduce ε-slice G-analytic functions that have a behavior similar to G-analytic functions at points x∈c0 such that all coordinates of x are greater than ε, and we prove a theorem on approximations of uniformly continuous functions on c0 by ε-slice G-analytic functions.

In this paper, we establish a new version of Hermite-Hadamard-Fejér type inequality for harmonically convex functions in the form of weighted fractional integral. Secondly, an integral identity and some weighted midpoint fractional Hermite-Hadamard-Fejér type integral inequalities for harmonically convex functions by involving a positive weighted symmetric functions have been obtained. As shown, all of the resulting inequalities generalize several well-known inequalities, including classical and Riemann–Liouville fractional integral inequalities.

Abstract The infinite number of particles limit in the dual to elliptic Ruijsenaars model (coordinate trigonometric degeneration of quantum double elliptic model) is proposed using the Nazarov-Sklyanin approach. For this purpose we describe double-elliptization of the Cherednik construction. Namely, we derive explicit expression in terms of the Cherednik operators, which reduces to the generating function of Dell commuting Hamiltonians on the space of symmetric functions. Although the double elliptic Cherednik operators do not commute, they can be used for construction of the N → ∞ limit.
