Abstract We study the double scaling limit of the O(N)3-invariant tensor model, initially introduced in Carrozza and Tanasa, Lett. Math. Phys. (2016). This model has an interacting part containing two types of quartic invariants, the tetrahedric and the pillow one. For the 2-point function, we rewrite the sum over Feynman graphs at each order in the 1/N expansion as a finite sum, where the summand is a function of the generating series of melons and chains (a.k.a. ladders). The graphs which are the most singular in the continuum limit are characterized at each order in the 1/N expansion. This leads to a double scaling limit which picks up contributions from all orders in the 1/N expansion. In contrast with matrix models, but similarly to previous double scaling limits in tensor models, this double scaling limit is summable. The tools used in order to prove our results are combinatorial, namely a thorough diagrammatic analysis of the Feynman graphs, as well as an analytic analysis of the singularities of the relevant generating series.

We give a brief overview of recent developments on the calculation of generating series for invariants of external products of suitable coefficients (e.g., constructible or coherent sheaves, or mixed Hodge modules) on complex quasi-projective varieties.

AbstractWe determine the behavior of automorphic Green functions along the boundary components of toroidal compactifications of orthogonal Shimura varieties. We use this analysis to define boundary components of special divisors and prove that the generating series of the resulting special divisors on a toroidal compactification is modular.

AbstractThis paper deals with Al-Salam fractional q-integral operator and its application to certain q-analogues of Bessel functions and power series. Al-Salam fractional q-integral operator has been applied to various types of q-Bessel functions and some power series of special type. It has been obtained for basic q-generating series, q-exponential and q-trigonometric functions as well. Various results and corollaries are provided as an application to this theory.

In this paper, we study the sections of the generating series for solutions to a linear multidimensional difference equation with constant coefficients and find recurrent relations for these sections. As a consequence, a multidimensional analogue of Moivre's theorem on the rationality of sections of the generating series depending on the form of the initial data of the Cauchy problem for a multidimensional difference equation is proved. For problems on the number of paths on an integer lattice, it is shown that the sections of their generating series represent the well-known sequences of polynomials (Fibonacci, Pell, etc.) with a suitable choice of steps.

AbstractWe utilize harmonic analytic tools to count the number of elements of the Galois cohomology group $$f\in H^1(K,T)$$ f ∈ H 1 ( K , T ) with discriminant-like invariant $$\text {inv}(f)\le X$$ inv ( f ) ≤ X as $$X\rightarrow \infty $$ X → ∞ . Specifically, Poisson summation produces a canonical decomposition for the corresponding generating series as a sum of Euler products for a very general counting problem. This type of decomposition is exactly what is needed to compute asymptotic growth rates using a Tauberian theorem. These new techniques allow for the removal of certain obstructions to known results and answer some outstanding questions on the generalized version of Malle’s conjecture for the first Galois cohomology group.

AbstractIn this paper we derive a generating series for the number of cellular complexes known as pavings or three-dimensional maps, on n darts, thus solving an analogue of Tutte’s problem in dimension three. The generating series we derive also counts free subgroups of index n in $$\Delta ^+ = {\mathbb {Z}}_2*{\mathbb {Z}}_2*{\mathbb {Z}}_2$$ Δ + = Z 2 ∗ Z 2 ∗ Z 2 via a simple bijection between pavings and finite index subgroups which can be deduced from the action of $$\Delta ^+$$ Δ + on the cosets of a given subgroup. We then show that this generating series is non-holonomic. Furthermore, we provide and study the generating series for isomorphism classes of pavings, which correspond to conjugacy classes of free subgroups of finite index in $$\Delta ^+$$ Δ + . Computational experiments performed with software designed by the authors provide some statistics about the topology and combinatorics of pavings on $$n\le 16$$ n ≤ 16 darts.

AbstractWe show that, after the change of variables $$q=e^{iu}$$ q = e iu , refined floor diagrams for $${\mathbb {P}}^2$$ P 2 and Hirzebruch surfaces compute generating series of higher genus relative Gromov–Witten invariants with insertion of a lambda class. The proof uses an inductive application of the degeneration formula in relative Gromov–Witten theory and an explicit result in relative Gromov–Witten theory of $${\mathbb {P}}^1$$ P 1 . Combining this result with the similar looking refined tropical correspondence theorem for log Gromov–Witten invariants, we obtain a non-trivial relation between relative and log Gromov–Witten invariants for $${\mathbb {P}}^2$$ P 2 and Hirzebruch surfaces. We also prove that the Block–Göttsche invariants of $${\mathbb {F}}_0$$ F 0 and $${\mathbb {F}}_2$$ F 2 are related by the Abramovich–Bertram formula.
